How do you get picked to go places with the community?

I've never left my district. We need government permission to, and that's okay with me; I'm not trying to break that--

[saying that half because there's still a small part of her that wonders if this place is some kind of Capitol trick to trap dissenters and law-breakers, and half as a "take that" to the people who have told her that her world is too restrictive and authoritarian]

-- but I don't think it would count if this place took me, especially if I went somewhere off of my world.

That resort sounded kind of fun, but how do kids here keep school and parents from missing them? Mine would freak out if I disappeared for two days, and I'd miss training.

From what I can tell, it seems like time stops during the ones the community takes you away from without letting you know. If you go somewhere on your own, time will go as normal so make sure you don't take really long trips to see anyone without letting them know.

All things considered. I guess it only wants to panic us, not the people who would look for us. [ Which he considers polite tbh ]

Do you panic when it drops you places?

Not most of the time. It dropped us in the middle of a zombie apocalypse once though...

[ That wasn't fun. ] I did what I could, but I wouldn't have called it fun.

Did anybody die?

I think so. The community brought anyone back in the end, but it was dangerous since a lot of peoples' abilities were blocked. The end is a little hazy for me, though.

I won't believe people can come back from the dead.

Unless you give me proof.

I don't know how I'd give proof.. You might have to wait until the next time something happens, though I'd avoid it at all costs anyway..

You won't. I'm not exactly the strongest person around and I've survived so far. It usually doesn't try to do things like that, too.

Usually isn't always. I'll try to be prepared.

I hope you can be. It doesn't always let us take things with us but... There are a few things I'm going to practice just in case too, though.

Does it give you things when you get there?

Sometimes, but not always. Sometimes it forces things on you too, like outfits.

Like better things to fight in than what you have on.

[totally assuming that that must be the case]

Well.. I guess sometimes it's climate-appropriate. Like formal wear at formal parties or snow wear for cold climates..

How often does stuff like that happen?

If there's not a virus, there's usually something like that. We end up with a lot of western holiday parties.

Like Europe and America.
