Goodness, that was a day.

Happy Spring, Community. I hope you are appreciating the billions of years of work your planet has put into making it possible. I must admit, the longer I play my role as overseer, the more envious I become of those oxymoronic omnipotent gods that can snap a finger and shoehorn in species wherever they please rather than working for decades to create a single shift.

But. That is not my question. I am curious as to what spring is like on your worlds, and how you would change it if you could. Do you like your worlds spring? Or are you even experiencing it now?

As always, your answers are much appreciated.

[evening thoughts]
It seems strange to me that there is so much emotion that runs within these winter months. Anger, hatred, denial...all negative emotions humanity seems to hold dear, as if a burning spirit will heat them during the frigid weather. Perhaps it is lucky that the recent parties have not devolved into Carnival-esque revels; I am not sure if your fragile bodies could handle it.

So as we go into a season of new beginnings and life, I ask you a question, community. If you could erase any emotion - negative or positive - what would it be, and why?

Well, now. I see that someone has tried - and failed - to break the community. I was almost worried I had lost it forever. But apparently, this place decided on a new look to go with a new year. Not a bad resolution, as things go.

So tell me, community. What are your new years resolutions? What will you strive for? What shall you conquer?

I mean really. The gall! That idiotic woman just assumed that I would fix all of her problems because I showed up with twinkly lights. And all she wanted a dress to impress a man. Not something sensible, oh no. The next time I see a princess I -

Oh? The community has found me again? And at a perfect time.

Tell me, community. What do you know of Fairy Godmothers?

[falling thoughts]
September to October...it seems fall has truly begun on most worlds. For godlets, the cooler seasons come as a bit of a relief; the work of summer and spring has come to fruition and now all that is left is to see how that work survives.

So tell me, community, what are Gods and Godlets like on your worlds? Do they fell the heartbeat of the seasons as I do? Or are they to preoccupied with their own pleasures to notice? Are they demons with beautiful faces needing to be overcome, or ugly creatures that none-the-less create beauty where they walk?
21 December 2010 @ 11:48 pm
In my travels, I recently came upon a universe where humanity terraformed worlds beyond recognition in pursuit of the 'ideal' human habitation. That 'ideal' involved packing in as many humans onto a planet as possible and removing all unnecessary things - such as plants, weather, and animals.

Tell me, community. Is that a laudable goal? If man is master, then is it just to discard all other life? Is the perpetuation - and exponential growth - of ones own species more important than the survival of every other living thing in a galaxy?

Well. Hello, all. How has your summer been? I spent mine saving a strange world, fighting a horde of shadows and defeating a planet-eating monster called an "Oracle". I'm afraid I forgot to bring souvenirs back - so sorry. But I figured most here would look askance at chess pieces made out of peoples souls.

They were quite fetching, though.

So be it. Eye of the star..

have I done well?

Well. I had wondered when the community would find me. It took two generations, but I suppose to most is was barely a summer. Time dilation always is difficult.

What has happened here in the mean time?

Tch. This most recent bout of viruses makes even my head hurt. It seems the possible universes connected to this place has tripled over the last week.

I hope you are all enjoying your insanity. In the mean time, I will be doing something sensible, like designing real viruses.

[There is an organic sound of a thinkhive recorder turning on amidst a flurry of heated conversation in High Speech. The argument abates and Karakaels tired voice can be heard.]

Dear Community.

I -ah- apologize profusely for my actions during the most recent virus. I was not, perhaps, in the clearest of mindsets. Rest assured, I have no further intention of removing myself from either the community or the universe at large. I am sorry if I worried you.

Also, many thanks to The Visitor and any who helped her understanding my masters idiosyncrasies. But you need not have worried; Uran s'Varek wishes to convey that she never had any intention of devouring me, despite holding me in stasis for the last few months days.

Everything is back to normal on my world, I hope the same is true for all the rest of you.

Normally I would hesitate to ask the community for such strange assistance. But dire circumstance call for dire methods.

Does any one have experience with black holes? I need to retrieve a fool friend from one.

A pause, as the screen clears to show an expanse of rubble and waste. The Visitor is standing in the middle of a giant landfill. She glances back at the camera, and smiles.

"So tell me, dear community, what I should do with this? It is getting in the way of Tchandbur's reforestation plans for this area and poisoning Pierees's water table."

A seagull lands at her feet and mournfully looks up.

"I thought I might solve the problem for them as a surprise."

Community. A few weeks ago there was a group of you who were all fired up about coming and killing me. If any are still interested, I have tweaked the laws of physics in my domain to allow you to have a decent chance at succeeding.

I will, of course, provide transportation to my world and fulfill whatever basic needs you have. However, you will need to bring your own fighting equipment and find your way through my maze on your own. I will look poorly upon the destruction of land outside my domain, and my fury will be assured should you kill any of my subjects before the fight.

Oh, and before you all become to worried, I am not about to start throwing asteroids into your planets. My decisions only affect the planets under my control, and what ever humans choose to inhabit them.

I seem to have run into a thorny problem recently. Perhaps you humans would be able to assist me with it.

What is the best form of population control?

Killing the vast majority of humanity in one go only works once, unfortunately.

So, tell me, community. With all these old viruses popping up again, how can one tell which post is real, and which is the product of virus-induced chaos? Or is it possible that none of us has escaped unaffected from the various insanities of this place?
09 October 2009 @ 07:06 pm
I am absolutely loath to come to this community with such a request, but apparently this is a rather impossible situation that even with all my godly whiles I cannot resolve.

How does one get rid of a total of fifty children for an evening? I love the brats but I wish they would let me have some semblance of privacy with my dear consort. Karree's childsoldiers are far to good at their job for my comfort.

A daughter of mine has decided to visit my world. In her time away she has gained far more interest in human traditions than I have ever managed.

How does one "throw a party"?

I think she would enjoy it.

Apparently there is a 'virus' going on that infects the victim with cat ears and a tail. I find it interesting that such additional appendages appear (or refrain from doing so) depending on the bearer's virginal status. Imagine my surprise to find that there is a common world where such an oddity is the norm.

How in the Keepers Name would such a useless trait evolve?
