Canon Bump - Starlight Breakers And You

[It's a scene like out of a magical girl's anime, two girls, one light, one dark overhead. Both of them seemed to be fighting the hardest they could. The one in black held out a hand to withstand the force of it, but the girl in pink thrust her staff forward and screamed two words.]

STARLIGHT BREAKER!

[There was a tremendous explosion which ripped asunder the broken bay which had been damaged severely from the battle. Brilliant light filled the camera -- and Hayate woke up, gasping for air.

Breathing heavily, her heart thudded away as she panted. Looking at the time, it read "7:45 AM" and she dragged a hand through her face.]

What was that... another dream? ... oh?

My fever broke. Thank god.

[Looking over at the laptop, she smiled at waved at it.] Good morning community, how is everyone today?

[The memory of the epic battle was swiftly fading from Hayate's mind too.]

Little girl? [Hayate blinked at that as she faintly recalled her dream.] Oh yeah, yeah I wonder how. That was some incredible power though.

They didn't bring back that "showing people's dreams" virus, did they?

I don't think they did. It's kind of weird, but it'd be cool to see dreams! I don't have a recording of, say, when I had my magical girl dream.

Funny how all of my dreams have been about magical girls lately, huh?

Mmm, I suppose so. I mean, I've gotten a lot of people looking out for me lately. More than usual. Karen-oneechan, Aqua-oneechan, Tsubomi-oneechan, Sena-oneechan...

Maybe it's just the community thanking me for connecting to people?

I didn't think Aqua-san or Kashiwazaki were magical girls.

Aqua-oneechan's magical! She cast a spell on a necklace that made me fly!

Sena-oneechan isn't, not that I know of, but she came and played with me on the snow day.

Oh? So Aqua isn't a magical girl by usual standards then?

Yeah. It's really kind of nice to be honest, since people are talking to me. It gets really lonely here to be honest.

Ah, I see! That makes sense.

Mmm, it's okay. I'm used to living alone. I've been doing it since my parents died. It gets lonely, but the community's really helping me out.

I have to admit I wonder how I dreamed that up. Those two certainly aren't my friends too...

It seems awfully vivid to just be your imagination. Dreams of events that are yet to happen - or have happened - aren't unheard of, though. Maybe it was something like that.

How does that work? Did I forget it and just dreamed it up recently, or do you think something else is at work?

I can only speculate, since I don't know exactly how your world works. But I know that in my world, it's very much possible to have dreams like that, though they are magic, so I don't know exactly how they work.

Hmm, really? That would make sense. But... [a little downcast] if I was magical, I probably wouldn't be sick...

Not necessarily. Again, I don't know how magic on your world would work, but it could simply be dormant. Most magic only works when it awakens, I think.

Really? I wonder if I really am magical then. It'd be neat to think about, right?

You never know what might happen.

Yeah! ... you know, someone once said that I might be able to heal my legs magically. Do you think that could happen?

It may very well be possible, actually. There's not much healing magic in my world, but I can't speak for others.

It's a nice thought. We're still looking for answers to why my legs are giving out. So maybe magic could change things.

I hope it can... There must be someone on the community who can heal.

Mmm I know...

.... because the doctor said that it won't stop with my legs. Eventually my whole body will be paralyzed. Maybe it is time to look into magical healing, even if it doesn't exist on my world.

[Yuri goes a little quiet at that. Poor girl.]

I'm... sure we can find someone. Maybe if you made a post on the community, someone with that kind of magic might see it.

[Hayate is full of adorable, but also tragedy. She needs hugs all the time.]

[Itsuki can't help but sputter at the sheer force behind that unstoppable pink light. Somewhere in the back of her mind she privately wondered if she could ever do anything with that much power.]

I'm okay... I'm more worried about you. Although that explosion was amazing.

[Most people have that reaction when seeing a Starlight Breaker. Good thing it was all a dream. Right?]

Yeah, that explosion was incredible... my dreams have gotten so vivid lately, it's kind of odd to be honest. But they fade just as quickly to the point I forget them.

It is unusual... And that's too bad. Things like this would be neat to see. These girls are extremely powerful. If this actually happened, I'd be very surprised if someone else didn't notice and investigate. [Certainly there would be someone on that world with an interest in protecting it.]

[lil_tanuki]

No doubt. Though I've never noticed anything out of the ordinary in my hometown. I'm sure a fight like that would have probably alerted someone at best.

[The wonderful thing barriers were. It kept people unaware of the insanity happening in their world.]

We know how that goes here... the Precure are easy to find when they're fighting, just look for the dust clouds and the bright pink and blue lights.

But anyway, are you feeling okay? I know you're in the hospital, but you weren't looking so good...

That would be easy to find then! And easy to stay away from.

Ah... I have a flu actually, but I'm slowly starting to recover. My legs are still the same, half-paralyzed though.

Somehow I don't seem to be very good at the "staying away" thing... I worry a little too much, though. I wish there was something I could do to help, but I'm not a legendary warrior. There's not a whole lot I can do against the kinds of things they fight.

That... is less bad than I was afraid of, and I'm glad to hear you're getting better.

I'm sure if you wished for it really hard, you'd become one! I think. Sometimes wishes come true, you know?

Mmm, it's bad when I get sick, but normally I'm able to get along just fine. It's not too hard to be honest.

[Itsuki smiles despite herself; Hayate's a good kid.] Yeah... sometimes they do. I'll hope for the best, and maybe if I'm good for a while, something good will happen.

I don't think I could live like that for very long at all. You're very well-adapted. [Strong, too, but she can't really say that to a nine-year-old, it feels all wrong.]

That's the spirit! Keep at it and I'm sure it'll all work out.

I have people looking in on me at times, and my doctor is always coming over. And I get an allowance from Mr. Graham too.

[sunbloom]

Of course. I'll wish that you get better, too. [It comes to Itsuki with a startling realization that even knowing some half a dozen Cures, none of them know curative magic. She files it away to ask about later.]

I'm glad you have people watching out for you. Who's this Mr. Graham, though? Does he live with you? Would he really have let Tsubomi bring you to Kibougahana in your condition?

Then I'll wish you can help out your friends too! [Cause that's what she does!]

Mr. Graham is my sponsor. He's overseas in England though, but I get a bi-monthly allowance sent to me in excess of a thousand euros. It's why I'm able to live so comfortably and pay my hospital bill. He's a friend of my late parents.

[The girl starts to respond, but there's something... off about this whole Graham thing. Who funds a ward half the world away, let alone with so much money for someone so young?] Hmm... I'd like to talk to him someday. He sounds nice, at least. Have you spoken to him lately?

[Someone who wanted her well cared for till his admittedly lousy if slightly sinister plans came to fruition.] He calls regularly, once a week around the same time. He asked me if it snowed here a while ago.

[sunbloom]

That's good, then. I wonder why he asked about the snow, though... that was caused by the community, so it shouldn't have affected him in England, right? [She shrugs.] Oh, well. It's not important.

I was watching the news later that day. It snowed all over!
