[Hello community, have you missed River? Well, she's missed you too, but as is the case with most university students, her final semester has been taking up her time. But now the community's come to collect some quality time via security camera in a reading room of some sort. A large window allows in bright light illuminating a table in the center of the room. The rest of the room is cast in shadows. Only River is present in a set of scholarly-looking robes, thoroughly engrossed in some papers. After a few minutes, she pushes them into their folder and picks up a little blue book. She flips through to a dog-eared page and studies it closely until...]
Tick-tock goes the clock
And what now shall we play?
Tick-tock goes the clock
Now summer's gone away.
[River looks off into a shadowed part of the room, just under the camera. The direction the voice had come from. It's clear from her expression that she's surprised, since she thought she was alone too. But at the same time, she's curious about her mysterious guest.]
Hello?
Such a lovely old song, but is it about him?
[A woman with dark hair in a black outfit has started to emerge from the shadows. River's curiosity grows, as does a touch of eagerness in her voice. She moves to get up, but stops and sits where she is.]
You know about the Doctor?
So very well. [River stands up from her seat looking hopeful. Despite having travelled with the Doctor a couple times, she yearned to learn more about him. Her curiosity grows as she tries to remember if she had ever come across this woman in her research.] Ohhh, don't try and remember me. We've been far too thorough with your dear little head.
[With the last three words, the mystery woman, who we shall refer to as Madame Kovarian, taps the sides of her own head twice as she comes closer. Behind River, a pair of aliens appear silently from the shadows. Agents of the Silence. Their heads are large and bald, eyes blacker than a cloudy night sky with no moon, and no mouth to speak of. As if sensing their approach, River turns. On sight she gasps loudly in shock. Madame Kovarian merely reaches over and picks up River's little blue book-- what will later become her diary.]
What are they? What are those things?
Your owners.
[River whips around to look at Kovarian, who flips through the little book. The effect is instantaneous. In that split second, she's forgotten what stands behind her.]
My what?
[Now she's just confused. Kovarian merely glances over a few pages, not answering the question. In stark contrast, she's completely at ease. It's almost as if she's toying with River.]
So they made you a doctor today, did they? Doctor River Song. How clever you are.
[This time, River has nothing to offer up. She's not sure what this woman's intentions are, but something tells her she needs a plan. But what? Any train of thought is interrupted as she's shown the page the book is open to.]
You understand what this is, don't you?
[River's managed to pull herself together. Almost all the pieces fit into place again when she speaks again in a level tone.]
According to some accounts, it's... it's the day the Doctor dies.
By Silencio Lake, on the Plain of Sighs. An impossible astronaut wil rise from the deep and strike. The Time Lord. Dead.
[Putting on a self-assured face, River sits her butt back down.]
It's just a story.
And this... is where it begins.
[Kovarian leans in closer to look River in the eyes, only to look back toward the doors to the room. The sound of them opening draws River's attention. As two soldiers come into view, each carrying one of two parts to an old Apollo astronaut space suit, River jumps back up to her feet. The look on her face one of unmistakable horror. Her past has finally caught up to her.]
You never really escaped us, Melody Pond. We were always coming for you.
[As River looks around, the soldiers move in and restrain her by either arm. She struggles to get away, but they have a tight grasp on her.]
How do you know who I am?!
I made you what you are. The woman who kills the Doctor!
[Kovarian sounds like the cat with all the cream, mice, and birds in all the world.Or Goldielocks after polishing Kirei up a bit. River on the other hand, struggles much more violently. Absolutely desperate as she screams in her bid for freedom.]
NO!!! NO! NO-AAaugh...
[On the third "no", one of the soldiers injects something through her sleeve. A sedative. Unwillingly, she calms down, her breathing heavy as the drug takes effect. Behind River, the Silence agents make an odd growling-clicking noise. The soldiers lower her into her chair. She looks so... defeated and sad as her head turns toward Kovarian.]
Tick-tock goes the clock
And all the years, they fly.
Tick-tock and all too soon,
Your love will surely. Die.
[River's breathing evens out as she passes out. But the video doesn't stop. Oh no, it's not done with her yet. Kovarian orders the soldiers to put River in the space suit. It was as if they were dressing a ragdoll. Once the helmet is sealed over her head, they carry her out. The agents of the Silence follow them. Kovarian looks around the room, the camera finally getting a decent look at her face. There's a small eyepatch over her right eye. The smirk on her face is absolutely unmistakeable as she walks out calm as a woman whose plans were going perfectly. Then the video cuts out.]
((This starts up an IC Hiatus for River! Needless to say she won't be replying and you probably won't see her for a while. Not until after she comes out of the lake, anyway. So regular font is River, blue is Madame Kovarian. And if you want to watch the scene, I found a video, but I wanted to add a little extra. 83c))

no subject
[Of course, getting the Doctor to help on that front probably isn't a good idea but...logic is pretty much out the window at this point.]

I wish we could. Truly I do. But Rory... it's... it's a fixed point.

god this is so late. /sob
Doctor...there has to be something.
It's okay!! /HOLDS
No, Rory there isn't... [And doesn't he sound just SO thrilled about that?]
When you and Amy first met River she was a prisoner at Stormcage... We can't change that.
