Also, um... I'm sure someone here must have this problem. What do you do if you know your family still loves you, but they, well, wish you were normal because it's embarrassing to deal with all of this?

The viruses and the strange things in our lives, well, make us not exactly normal, really. And most people just want to fit in and not have people embarrass the family.

I thought that, because I'd never heard of what was happening to me before. Strange markings and strange abilities. That kind of thing.

I had to tell them that, but it took a while. It's just... so many things have happened that I'm not sure I could be a normal person. That sort of thing.

I guess it's just a "hopeless cause" sort of thing. I mean, like how sometimes an idol caught having a boyfriend will have to make an apology and either lose her career or humiliate herself, even if the evidence wasn't conclusive that they weren't just friends?

It certainly wasn't like that in my country-- and I don't pay much attention to Earth celebrities, but people enjoy gossiping about who's seeing who. They're encouraged to date, not discouraged.
