So, I've got a question for you all.

Do you believe in fate and destiny? Or is life just a series of chance encounters and coincidences that lack any deeper significance?

Life is striving for that one goal.

What goal is that?

Hmmmm. Is that like believing in Santa Claus or the Easter bunny?

I had asked a similar question a while back. I think the best answer is that it's a mixture of both.

Defeating my greatest rival.

After that I have no purpose, so I'll probably die.

I don't really know what those things are, but something like that. I don't believe in destiny.

I don't believe in destiny. It's just something people say to try and make sense of the basically senseless world around them.

So, did you choose your goal? Or do you think that somehow you were "destined" to meet this rival of yours and fight him?

"Life's a bitch, then you die." Pretty much sums up my philosophy on life.

I was programmed with it. It ain't my choice to fight him.

I am not quite sure if I believe in destiny completely. If it does exist, I would think one should be able to change it, that it is not completely set in stone.

In the world I live in, it's a daily struggle just to survive. Unless you're filthy rich, this world holds few pleasures to enjoy.

If destiny is real, then who is the one controlling it? If people really have the power to change their fates, then doesn't that make the idea of destiny kind of redundant?

I'm a robot. And my "father" is hellbent on defeating this little blue fucker, so he built me.

Hmmm...I'm not so sure if I completely believe it's either of those things...I believe the past has more to do with the way life turns out, if you see where I'm going.

I tend to make my own destiny and I never thought about some unknown something out there having a plan for me...never thought things were all left up to chance either.

You forge your own destiny. You have to go out and find what you want.

...Hmm... Fate exists, but it's hardly a static thing. It's constantly changing, which means that it's something that's virtually impossible to control. The difference between fate and chance is actually pretty small.

I believe you make your own fate. What happens to you is governed by what you do and what choices you make. Certain things might happen to you and force you to make a choice, but in the end those circumstances don't govern your future. You do.

Fate is determined by the strong, boy.

Because it's just some fairy tale people tell themselves so that they can survive in this cruel world. If bad things "happen for a reason," then people can accept the painful events in their lives without question or complaint.

I don't believe in fate.

I don't have a past, so I have nothing to look back on, nothing to chain me down.

I live in the moment. My past is a blank slate and the future has yet to be written. There's no point in looking forward or behind.

I don't really know what it is I want. I don't really have a direction or a purpose other than just to survive. So I just live my life from moment to moment.
