I can see the humor. A bit dark, though.

I like it to be realistic. Besides, classic story.

I do believe I'm familiar with it. The story never really changes, anyway. Can't much say from experience, however. I've never been part of that society.

Just the names and dates, really. No one never realizes it, pity. I've been raised in the high class and I've heard stories, more than likely true. From my mother's gossiping with other well born ladies.

Truth be told, I was more than likely guilty of being the "other man" on many occasions. If he was some miserly lesser man who had supplies that could better benefit the masses, mores the better.

I'd never do it myself, just don't have the will. But given the right situation I might, just for the sake of getting the death sentence afterwards, but some women would think of the greater good, no doubt.

I feel sorry for women like that, no matter the reason. The lives of young women should be filled with joy and passion, they should not be shackled to oafs who do not appreciate them.

Some get lucky, some don't. Way of the world. Some enjoy being wealthy and married to idiots, and some find loopholes. As in the case of the woman in the song who cheated with a goatherder simply to get the death penalty.

You do have quite the sense of humor.

It's the truth about the "noble" romance. Someone pulls that off and they get executed for adultry. That you can change the names all you want it ends up the same way. Dead.

Or you could say it's simply ironic that it's put to a cheerful tune. Whatever.
