This occurs approximately five to thirty minutes after start-up, when I am not running any form of application whatsoever. I am beginning to assume it may be something running without my own knowledge.

It seems that I may have been "hacked." Or is this a virus? I am not positive as to how it happened precisely ... Nor did I happen to reveal any form of crucial information, thus I am quite confused as to how to remedy this problem.

I did as another individual suggested and reformatted my hard drive. Twice. (Which, I will insist, is quite an tedious process altogether! This machine is fussy.) Though, it seems to still be granting me this peculiar error.

Perhaps I have done so incorrectly? System 32 seems to be intact ... Are the CDs themselves are outdated? Or did they happen to grant me the wrong ones? I have only done what I was directed to do, however--Mm. Well it is a custom model.

[ooc: Extended timeline, get. Kaworu is a hacker. So, yes. He's very computer savvy, but totally inept when it comes to social interactions on the computer. Hence, his intro post a while back is not a lie.

Anyway, he will, evidently, not be telling you all this. His mission is to gain more knowledge for SEELE regarding what the hell NERV is doing, and why they're delaying so long on the Human Instrumentality Project. So, he's due to live for a month or two instead of twenty-four hours. This is just side job before his actual job. They're actually just using him, but that'll be elaborated upon at a later date.

So, this is important for this entry: His post and his responses are going to be cut-off awkwardly because his computer is systematically rebooting itself. A lot. Whoops. Kind of got virus'd/hacked himself, as he was trying to crack a particular password to access a part of NERV's database. So, he's tired and kind of frustrated because he's been trying to fix his computer for the last two days. Yes, he will sign back on to respond even if he has been booted. No, really. >:

--Yes. It tends to get rather frustrating when attempting to talk to another individual. It must seem rather rude, after all.

I am not quite sure as to where to inquire about such a problem as this -- In usual cases, I would not be as determined to fix this machine, but I am ~~under a deadline~~ needing to contact someone.

With any luck. I assume with the variety of individuals on this particular site, my chances are slightly better. My only hope is that they will not suggest buying another, though it seems I may have to at this point. I am certain the staff here will be rather miffed if I were to ask for a favor such as this at the current.

You are likely correct, however I would have assumed that reformatting one's hard drive would have rid of the problem. At least, that is what I have read.

Ah. I suppose you may say I am a selected "hand" in a government facility. I do not live on the site itself, you see, though it seems at the current I have irritated the employees quite severely.

I guess it would be best not to bother them about that. Sounds like to me that it's a really bad virus and even if you try to do something about it, the computer will just reboot itself.

I think you might have to get another computer.

Myself? Ah, it is not too difficult. Some would consider it stressful in some cases, and testing does tend to run at eccentric hours, but it is actually quite quiet as of the moment. There has not been an attack for some time, now. A few find this is rather disconcerting. I suppose it is understandable, but I am happening to enjoy the lull.

Mm. After all, it seems I am still garnering rather dirty looks in the corridors at the moment. I think I may have encountered quite the virus, in that case. Perhaps I am one of the first to have such a persistent one. ~~Once I am able to amend this problem, I do hope they will appreciate the cluster-bomb virus I am working on. Tch.~~

I am not certain I will be able to so easily replace this one, however. I was granted a specific ... ah, model. Hopefully, it will not come to such an extreme measure.

Mm. It is a blend of platforms, I might say. It seems to be a crossbreed of two or more preferred systems -- Linux and MAC. The CDs I have are unmarked, understandably. It has rather extensive memory and RAM, thus it is rather irreplaceable ... Along with its particular firewall.

I have tried quite a variety of things, though it seems to be buried at this point.
