Well, let's get down to some basic introductions. My name is Toph and I'm an earthbender who can also bend metal. I am also blind. And just because I'm blind, doesn't mean I'm helpless. That's what my parents thought and they were so overprotective that I finally ran away and joined Aang, Sokka, and Katara. They became my new family and I don't plan on going back home. That life was not for me anyway, my parents were about to keep me from earthbending, and that's actually how I "see".

Okay, now I'm sure you're really confused because I said I'm blind. I still can't see with my eyes, but with earthbending, I can send out vibrations and sense where things and people are. It's actually really cool and helpful.
