Team Two - Part II

[RL - ShinRa Building - Gaia]

Team Two eventually manage to make it to the top of the stairs in various states of tiredness, having had to fend off several groups of SOLDIERs on the way up only to find a bored-looking Shiro waiting for them at the top. Kadaj frowns briefly at the cat-demon, then shrugs and turns to face the rest of the team.

"Okay, everyone alright so far? Any problems, just give me a shout - and remember, we've got Namine and Bart waiting outside in case there's any trouble." He seems serious, and almost mature for a moment. "I'm not going to leave here without any of you. You have my word on that."

Nodding, he kicks at the door in front of him, breaking it down only to reveal another group of ShinRa SOLDIERs waiting for them. His serious expression rapidly changes into one of near-insanity, and he gives a wicked chuckle as he draws his sword, preparing to launch himself at the nearest opponent.

"Playtime."

*reigns the Chocobo* I'M NOT UNDERSTANDING THE BIRD THING!

*Ryle backs the bird up and swings downwards with his sword, decapitating an on-rushing SOLDIER*

Zaon drops the now empty gun and draws his sword attacking a charging SOLDIER, a frown on his face at Kadaj's insanity. He casts blind on a few of them, but not before taking a strike at their chest.

"Where is she Kadaj?"

((I'm not entirely sure if I should be commenting here or not))

Rude came around a corner pulling on a pair of black leather gloves and slipping on a pair of brass knuckles over them. He stopped in the corridor and watched the oncoming group.

"..."

((This is fine. ^_^))

Kadaj finishes off the SOLDIER he faces with a swift strike to the jugular, laughing as blood spatters across his black leather - then he turns to see Rude staring at him, and cocks his head to one side, raising an arm to point out the Turk. It's clear that, in a fight, he's in his element.

"Hey, look, everyone! Rufus must think we're special."

"She's through here somewhere. Only a few more floors to go." He giggles as he decapitates a SOLDIER, kicking the head away and snickering as one of the other ShinRa soldiers almost vomits in disgust. "What's the matter? Can't keep it up?"

"Ride it at them! It'll freak 'em out!" Kadaj calls, rather impressed at Ryle's swordplay.

"..."

Rude started foward at a slow walk, eyes not moving from the leather clad youth. He gradually began to pick up speed, eventually moving to a brisk walk, his fists clenching at his side.

Kadaj stood and waited for the brawler to come to him, flicking the Souba in elaborate circles as the other team members battled the SOLDIERs around him. He smirked at Rude and giggled to himself, relishing the opportunity to finally face the Turk in a fight.

"What's the matter, Rude? Reno got your tongue?"

"Shut up brat." Rude said as he got within range of the youth.

He pulled back a fist and threw the first punch.

"Oh, did I hit a nerve?" he sniggered, only just managing to step aside and swinging his sword at Rude's chest. "I wondered where Reno had got to recently. Are you too much of a man for him, Big Boy?"

If you say so.

*Spurs the Chocobo into the fray*

Zaon impales another SOLDIER to his back, and turns to cut another across his chest as he recovers the attack. A very "Yunalesca" smirk crosses his features, "She didn't marry me for the title."

Shiro grins as he gets through the door, and hefts his naginata. He surveys the playing field, and then turns to Tidus, grinning.

"So, short stuff, you actually any good at fighting? Or are you just a mouthy sonofabitch~?"

Taking out her needle, Nelsha closes her eyes and concentrates. The needle faintly glows as Nelsha mutters a Quake spell under her breath. With a flash, the earth spell hits a group of rushing SOLDIERS.

The very sight of the dead SOLDIERS lying around made the seemingly young girl wince; she has fought many battles alongside Meis and co., yet this was different. What the team was fighting was not the humanoid mechs of the Dianova Empire, but ordinary humans, humans who probably had families to support. The thought of this made Nelsha a little uneasy.

With a silent apology to the deceased SOLDIERS, Nelsha focuses back to assisting the team with her magic.

Tidus follows Shiro's gaze around the room at the fight. He hasn't had a good battle in years, and life's been kind of boring - he's raring to go.

Shiro's comment makes him twitch and glare up at him a little. "Hey-just-cause-I-landed-on-you-doesn't-mean-you-can-be-a-jackass-okay?" He turns away from Shiro, less glaring than kind-of grinning now. "I-can-fight-just-fine-anyway-what-about-you-Mr-Just-Got-A-Pole?"

Sakura leaps toward the two men, landing next to Tidus, as she observes their verbal tirade. "Mouuu, guys! Let's fight our enemies, not each other!"

The carnage before her is unlike anything that Sakura had seen before. She had seen movies, but nothing like this. There was a faint tugging at her stomach, as she attempted to distract herself from her innate compassion. This is the real world.

Her eyes widen as a group of ShinRa soldiers rushes toward them. Concentrate. Quickly, she throws up a Clow Card in the air, releasing it's power.

"Take this~~," Sakura leaps into the air with the aid of The Jump, slamming a clumsy Power Card-infused kick into a soldier's chest. She winces as the soldier slams into the side of the wall, "Just like...the movies....ehehe."

Edward wasn't unused to bloodshed, but he wasn't in total approval of Kadaj's way of taking down the SOLDIERs; they were not Homunculi nor were they monsters, only humans. His face darkened as he watched Kadaj decapitate a SOLDIER and kick his head aside gleefully.

Everyone else was holding the attention of the SOLDIERs; he managed to sneak behind two SOLDIERs and clapping his hands together, transmuted the helmets so that they couldn't see a thing.

Quickly, he transmuted their guns so that they wouldn't shoot randomly in their panic, and knocked them out before going to assist the other members of the team.

Shiro scowls at Tidus.

"It's not just a pole, look!" he says, swinging it towards Tidus. "It's half fucking sword. Bastard sharp, too."

He looks back towards the battlefield. "And I'm gonna go slice up some fuckers with it."

Shiro gives Tidus a friendly clap on the shoulder, and then dashes off to the nearest SOLDIER, a bloodthirsty gleam in his eye.

Rude stepped back from the sword and drilled a fist into Kadaj's stomach.

"I said shut up."

Easily avoiding the sharpness with a Hasted hop backwards, Tidus yelps "Watch-where-you're-pointing-that!"

He oofs forward a little at the shoulderclap, but regains his balance quickly, watching Shiro go for the SOLDIER, slightly disturbed by the bloodlust that's written all over his face before the adrenaline of the fight seeps into his head. Within second, the battlehigh fills his system, sped up by the Haste, he grins and leaps into the fray himself.

Unlike the rest of his comrades who had magic and augmented weapons to rely on, Ian had to make do with a discarded gun that he had picked off of a dead SOLDIER. With an audible grunt, he dodged an oncoming SOLDIER and retaliated with a shot to the gut. The SOLDIER cried out in pain, collapsing to the ground a moment later in a pool of blood.

"..."

After looting the corpse for more ammunition, Ian hurried off to aid the rest of the party.

I really don't want to kill anyone...

She gulps anxiously as more SOLDIERS appear, and pauses to consider what card to use next. With an idea at hand, she fingers a Card from her pocket and releases the entity within it. As the flash of magic fades, a blue-skinned figure flickers into view next to Sakura.

"Watery! Can you flush those soldiers away without killing them?"

The figure motions in response, sending a potent wave a water crashing toward the soldiers.

Shiro is distracted as Watery is summoned, and has to fling himself away from the blade of a SOLDIER at the last second, yelling something that sounds like "Holy fuckin' Christ!"

"Ian, right?" Ed asked, noting his looting of the corpse. "Need any help there?"

Having already seen a couple of card-summons, Tidus is not as distracted as he was first time, and so concentrates on taking out the SOLDIER in front of him with a horizontal swing. He follows this move through and around to take out the SOLDIER threatening Shiro, unable to resist an opportunity to show off a little and regain some dignity at the same time. Plus the whole "protect the guys on your team" thing.

"We're-even-for-the-landing-on-you-thing-now-right?" Tidus grins triumphantly back at Shiro over his shoulder, and laughs. "Now'd-you-believe-I-can-fight?"

Turning back to face the SOLDIERS, bouncing back and forth on his heels at a ridiculous speed, he waits for the next enemy to come.
