I have a question, ducks... what is Valentine's Day about? I've been seeing and hearing the word come up a lot but I'm not sure what the holiday is about. I would have asked one of my teammates but they seem to be arguing again... Is it something like Christmas? Someone once told me it was about love.

Yeah, it's about love. Usually, you take your significant lover out on a fancy date and shower them with gifts and generally show your appreciation for them. Unless you broke up with that person like ten days earlier in which case you sit at home watching violent movies where all the men die and eating four pints of Ben & Jerry's.

Yes, it is a lover's holiday. Gifts are usually exchanged with the person you care for most. In Japan, it is quite normally the man who gives his girlfriend chocolate. We even have another holiday a month later, called White Day, where the young woman will give her boyfriend a return gift. It's actually quite cute.

It's when you love someone a whole lot so you give them candy.

From what I can tell, Valentines day is like Christmas, except with hearts instead of blinking lights. I think its their celebration for the beginning of spring.

That's for a different reason.

I think so? They cover tree's in blinking lights and put boxes with stuff under them.

I don't know. Neither holiday makes much sense to me.

Sure! I know about all kinds of things!

Exactly! Usually spent with the person you care for most.
