For those of you who have clearly forgotten, and perhaps for those who never knew...this is what my efforts accomplished in the past.

Gaze upon it in awe...none have ever achieved what we did. And know this: I shall make even greater things to regain our hearts.

I was primarily responsible for its creation - a few aided in its formation, particularly the Keyblade Master, although he was oblivious to his role until the end.

Is it beautiful? I would not know. And it no longer exists...it was destroyed.

Yes. It is beautiful. But it was destroyed? You have my sympathy. Some people just don't appreciate something wonderful unless they're tearing it apart.

What is it in the heart that causes people to be so blindly destructive? It was proposed that the true nature of the heart is darkness. Perhaps this is true.

I suppose humans must be naturally given to destroying things. They're only happy if they're taking something that isn't theirs, and if you give them something precious to look after, they taint it and bend it to their will until it just breaks.

The true nature of the heart being darkness? I don't know. Perhaps.

I'm not. I was created to act as a conduit for another being... but he failed in his task, and now I'm just me again.

We are very similar then - we both should not exist, and yet we do.

Castle's still there, just...don't look at Kingdom Hearts. Ergh. What happened there?

A fool attempted to absorb it into a machine as data. Before the machine self-destructed, significant damage was done...a horrible, gaping wound was right in the center of it.

It was later completely obliterated when I failed to defend it myself from the rage of the Keyblade Masters.

There's still some heart...stuff, hanging around where it was. It's pretty icky.

Wait, Sora and Riku killed the rest?!

Kingdom Hearts lent me its power to protect it, and even with that, I was beaten. I assume that my defeat was also the defeat of Kingdom Hearts.

...they wouldn't have killed it though. I mean, it's Kingdom Hearts.

Of course Kingdom Hearts still exists. The manifestation above the Castle does not.

And none have ever lost so much, in blind arrogance and ignorance, to regain.

The farther I fall, the more amazing, triumphant, and glorious my ascension will be.

One can only fall so far before a reversal becomes impossible.

Indeed. Though this is the first instance that I have sorrowed when the student surpassed the master.

Why would you "sorrow" for that?

That any that I had taught could be foolish enough to follow a doomed path to its end. That apprentices could compound the errors of their master in some pathetic attempt at glory. That you, who showed such promise, continued down a forbidden road to this dark conclusion for all of us.

Hahahaha...that is the cause of your anguish? I have news that will lift your spirits, then. I will succeed where you have failed; I will follow my path to salvation and not oblivion; and I shall be hailed as a savior across all worlds, surpassing you as a King as well.

It is obvious that you have surpassed me in delusions as well. The road to darkness does not lead to such grandiose triumph as that you have envisioned.

You are mistaken; I must concede that you are my superior when it comes to delusions. I do not travel the road to darkness any longer...in my present form, I am a hollow shell, and my path is set in nothingness.

And there it shall remain, as you have stranded yourself in a form without meaning or hope.
