[Accidental Video 3 - Someone has a secret]

[OOC: I've wanted to use that icon for a long time now. :D ALSO - feel free for this to be a true memory of Lily or just something Snape wishes were a true memory. Either/or works just fine for me.]

Severus is back in his beloved Dungeons. The new school year starts in a little over a week and the Potions Master is making himself to home once more. Of course, Hogwarts has always been more of a home to him than the place he grew up.

He seems almost happy as he mucks about, tidying up his office. He hates teaching but he loves being back with his fully stocked supply closet and all of the equipment Hogwarts afforded him. It is enough to help him forget for awhile that his life is far from pleasant at the moment.

Plucking a book from one of the many shelves in the room, Severus takes a seat at his desk. Behind him, the network has played another trick on him, flipping over and broadcasting. His back to the pesky book, the wizard has no idea that it has popped up again.

On this particular day, he is brushing up on some of his wand work. An accomplished duelist, Severus Snape never passes up an opportunity to fine tune his training. Flipping through the book on various spells and charms he comes upon one charm that he hasn't thought about in years. Certainly, he had once been quite adept at performing the complex magic involved but the knowledge of the charm's existence had faded from him over the years.

His shoulders rise and fall with a sigh and he scratches his head, mulling over the book in front of him. And then, suddenly, the viewer of this feed is ripped from the image of his back to a bright, sunny day.

It is one of those days meant for just enjoying being alive. It looks to be late Summer as the grasses of the field are golden in color. Two children appear, running and letting out cries of sheer glee as they go. In the distance a city can be seen - dirty and grimy - but this place with a field and a small play ground seems like another world entirely from the city.

As the children draw nearer it becomes obvious who they are - a girl with flowing red hair and green eyes and a clumsy looking boy with long black hair and black eyes. She looks well cared for while her companion does not. Still, on this day they are playing as equals - they always played as equals. It didn't seem to matter to her that the boy she had taken as her friend was someone most viewed as weird and uncouth.

They played and they played until dusk began to settle in. The boy knows the girl will have to go home soon. She, no doubt, has a lovely meal waiting for her while he... he will be lucky if someone has actually gotten around to doing the grocery shopping let alone cooking.

He takes a seat in the grass and draws his knees up to his chest, gazing down at the pond below. The little red-headed girl plops down next to him but her eyes are skyward, watching the first stars twinkling into view.

"It's amazing, isn't it, Sev? The light we're seeing here is thousands or millions or more years old."

He glances up from the water to comment but instead of seeing the stars the first thing his eyes see is Lily - far more beautiful than any star in his mind. At thirteen years of age he has started to notice things about his best friend that hadn't really hit home before - how he loved her voice or the way she laughed or how her smile lit up her whole face or the way her beautiful red hair draped over her shoulders.

"Sev?"

He jerks out of his thoughts and looks up at Lily. She is already standing and looking a little worried. "You in there, Sev? I've been trying to get you to stand up for the last minute or so. I need to head home or Mum will worry."

"Sure, sure. Sorry."

"Com'on," she says with a grin, offering him a hand up.

He takes the offered hand. It's warm and soft and sends his heart into all kinds of gleefully excitement, warmth spreading all over his body. Was this what it meant to be happy? Was this how it felt when you finally realize you've been in love with someone for years but never knew it until that very moment?

The emotions are so powerful that someone might be able to pick up on them just by watching the scene take place. Was this just a daydream or was this a memory? Was it both?

And then we're back in Severus's office. The feeling of warmth and love still linger. No matter which it was - imagination or reality - the strength of it will be more than enough to make the charm work.]

Old flame?

I'm sure this wasn't suppose to be seen.

That's Lily, isn't it? She's beautiful.

[James watches the events unfold, not aware his own book is also recording him. He finds himself smiling at the image of Lily and the warmth he feels. He remembers the first time he felt that and knows he wasn't much younger either. But he doesn't say anything. This may be Snape but somehow it seemed wrong to interrupt and taunt. So he just watched and waited, still not realising he could be watched in return.]

[Remus has the posts Snape has made before. He's heard about an older version of him being on the community but he isn't sure of it until this virus. But it's unmistakable. Weird, that he's 17, the man in the video so much older, and yet he knows exactly who he is]

Severus...?

Oh.

[identity profile] negative-five.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
What do you mean?

[identity profile] negative-five.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 05:01 pm (UTC)(link)
I just... didn't know. Which... makes sense, I suppose, because why would you want someone to know that.

I just... know how that feels.

[identity profile] negative-five.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 05:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Feeling like that.

You know what I mean.

[identity profile] quidditch-stag.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 06:14 pm (UTC)(link)
[James' face turned colder when he realised Snape could see him.]

Do you want one?

[identity profile] quidditch-stag.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 06:21 pm (UTC)(link)
[James nodded. There was something about Lily that made him feel almost sorry for Snape. He doubted he could have found one even if had wanted one.]

...Did that really happen?

[identity profile] quidditch-stag.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 06:23 pm (UTC)(link)
Just curious.

[identity profile] makewayforroze.livejournal.com 2011-08-24 07:03 pm (UTC)(link)
The community showed it to everyone. It really seems to invade your privacy. I'm sorry.

It's a very nice scene. Did it happen?
madeitsquare: (Time to think this over...?)

HE KNOWS LONELINESS.

[personal profile] madeitsquare 2011-08-24 08:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Whatever you were remembering, or... whatever that was. That girl.

You have a peculiar expression on your face.

It would seem the community has decided to delve once more into the more personal aspects of our lives. I am sure you are aware of this by now, though.
