and my body is being inhabited by a thick-headed, Quidditch-playing twit.

Is it so much to ask that I have my own body?

Were you born this dim or were you dropped on your head - repeatedly - as a child? It is not in your best interest to go about, waving details of your death for all to hear.

Why not? All the important people here know so I don't see why I need to keep it a secret. This is more to cover your own ass.

That won't work. Much of the staff here also taught James Potter - they'll recognize the body and probably all faint.

I told the people it concerned. Mainly Sirius. And despite my actions, I am grateful for it. But that doesn't mean I like you.

[The other wizard looks relieved - an expression that looks natural on James but wouldn't on Severus.]

Good. With Bellatrix here you cannot be too careful. She will do anything to curry favorite with the Dark Lord and if she gets wind of anything you're doing to change your fate she will try to destroy it. And perhaps I am being a little selfish here but I would rather someone like Bellatrix not find out that I was the one who tried to foil the Dark Lord after stupidly giving him the information that led to the mess.

[Why, yes, Severus did just call his actions 'stupid'. Why do you ask?]

Death does not particularly worry me but I would rather it not be at the hands of Bellatrix Lestrange.

[pause]

And the feeling is entirely mutual.

Wait. You're telling Black all of this? You fool! He was sent to Azkaban for selling you out to the Dark Lord and killing a bunch of Muggles!

[Because Severus has not yet learned that it was Peter Pettigrew who sold out the Potters...]

[If he could have killed Sirius Black himself he would have done so - gladly. Severus had never taken a life directly but that was one life he thought not worth a moral quandary. Even now if Black showed up in his timeline he would kill him without a second thought. It was his fault the Potters had been revealed to the Dark Lord. Were it not for Black they would have survived - Lily would have survived.]

Because we knew no-one would guess it. Everyone would be searching for Sirius and we would be safe.

Well, you were right on that - no one suspected Peter. Supposedly, Peter Pettigrew was murdered by Sirius Black when Pettigrew was trying to apprehend Black.

[There is a long pause during which Severus lets this news set in properly.]

Pettigrew made himself out to be a hero and Black went to Azkaban. Charming.

[Severus hated Sirius Black but he certainly did not think he deserved the wizard prison if he was innocent.]

The idea wasn't a bad one. [Even he has to concede that the idea of going with the most unlikely of the Marauders as the Secret Keeper was clever.] You even fooled Dumbledore by all accounts. Any idea where Pettigrew ended up?

[He attempts to make his tone nonchalant but seeing as this is not his body and not his voice it might be obvious to James what Severus is thinking about doing. He might not be able to prove who was really to blame aside from himself but a trip to Azkaban was worth it if it meant he could exact some revenge on the other guilty party.]

I know that. We're going to change it all. I have a better idea for a Secret Keeper. And no I don't know where Peter is in your time.

[James paused for a while, analysing the video feed. He was sure there was something Snape wasn't telling him and he could figure it out knowing himself as well as he did. He just needed a little more.]

Too bad.

[There was something mixed in his voice beside disappointment - there was an underlying current of hatred and barely contained rage. He'd find Pettigrew and make him pay for what he had done.]

[She won't bring it up! No worries.]

[Wanda is trying to be thankful but she's not to familiar with Hogwarts.]

There's probably no one from your world here either. Would you maybe be able to world hop off?

And don't do anything stupid with my body. Or anything stupid in general. You can't change anything now.
