Act I

[When the feed cuts on Makoto can be seen in her kitchen cooking, but partially distracted by a phone call. She seems to be frantically dividing her attention between what’s going on in the pan in front of her and the person on the other end of the line.]

…A…ah…well maybe now might not be a good time…no, no…it’s not that…I do want to talk to you it’s just…haaa…that’s not fair I take a pretty hard line when it comes to cheaters…

[She turns her back to the camera, looking for something in her kitchen apparently.]

…look…I don’t like that she cheated…I don’t like it when people can’t get what they want on their own steam…or the people who support it and profit from it…but maybe the silver lining is that we didn’t get the part…it’s better than us fighting o-

-OH!

[And when she turns back around her pan is on fire. It takes a lot to get Makoto distracted from cooking and she’s so shocked by it that she drops the phone and does this strange little dance-dive for the nearest tea cloth so she can pick up the pan, throw it in the sink, and cut on the water.

The next shot is of a teary-eyed Makoto, though whether she’s genuinely sad about the cooking or she got a little too much smoke in the face is up for debate.]

It’s burnt…that…can’t…be!

[And in the background one can hear the faint calling of Mako-chan, Mako-chaaaaaan!

The scene cuts here.]

Act II

[And then another scene opens with Makoto pouring diligently over some books, it’s probably homework that she’s been procrastinating on…but it has to be done!

She looks pretty devoted, scribbling hard in her notebook and leafing through the pages of her text book.

Then suddenly her phone rings and she disappears for a few moments before returning to her sitting spot at her desk.]

Usagi?...Hi…is there an emergency?

[A looooooooooong pause.]

Oh…this subject again…hm…well I know you’re worried about her getting to do that scene with Mamoru…since it is Snow White…but…well maybe we should think about it differently…you know…like we talked about before…

…Natsumi is new and she doesn’t have many friends…she doesn’t participate in anything…and her attitude can be pretty hard to take…but if she cheated to get that role don’t you think that shows how lonely she is?

[Leans back in her chair]

No…I don’t think it was right…but still…this is for Mamoru riii-AAAAH!

[And she leans too far back in her chair only to tumble out of it and the phone goes flying. Once again the faint sound of Mako-chaaaaan can be heard in the background]

Hurts!

[The video cuts again.]

Act III

[Now for the final act.

Makoto is in the bath, but fear not, nothing can be seen past the shoulders and besides, she's clearly having one of those days. But she seems perfectly at ease just soaking…until a strange beeping goes off and she extends an arm out of the tub long enough to grab her handheld communicator.]

Hi Mako-chan~ is this a bad time…I couldn’t get you on the phone so…?

I-it kind of is…I mean it’s just a little strange talking to you in my bathroom…and this isn’t an emergency is it?

A…ahahahaha! Well…

It’s about Natsumi…?

Yes!

[Siiiiiiiiiigh]

Have you tried Rei-chan, Ami-chan, and Minako-chan?

Well…I’ve tried, but Rei-chan just yells, Ami-chan tells me I should think of Natsumi’s feelings, and Minako-chan is still upset about not getting the part…so…so…Mako-chan?

[And Makoto lets the communicator drop to the floor, though she does it easily so nothing breaks. Afterward she sinks into the tub so all that anyone can see is her hair floating on the surface of the water.

If she’s not back up again in ten minutes, don’t send a rescue party.]

Mako-chan?

[And the feed cuts here, once and for all.]

Yeah...really bad timing. I can understand what Usagi-chan is concerned about...but still...

Usagi sounds desperate.

Yeah...I think she is a little bit...Mamoru, the man that she loves, he's doing a love scene with another girl in this Snow White play and Usagi is having a hard time with it. Of course, there are a lot of other issues as well.

If it's a play then it's not even real.

No, you're right, it's not real. I think it has more to do with the fact that Natsumi cheated to get the part just to kiss Mamoru...and to Usagi that's pretty real.

...How do you cheat to get a part?

[Isn't it? And it's warm too!]

Well, I think everyone wanted the lead role and even I can't say that I didn't want it, because I kind of did. I just didn't feel like it was worth fighting over though, that's how Mamoru lost his original crew. I think it has more to do with the fact that Natsumi cheated to get the role and that's why she can't let it go.

I'm glad to hear that. [Though she is hoping that 'okay' is a good thing] I'm doing okay too, though with the play I've been practicing lines and trying to get used to my costume. Otherwise, I'm really well.

Well, Mamoru lost his original cast because everyone was fighting over the lead role. I have to admit it happened again when we were elected by Usagi, we couldn't sort out who would be best for the lead role.

So I guess Natsumi overheard we were going to do Snow White and so she did this drawing slots kind of deal, except it was drawing strings. She said there was one white string, one red-tipped string, and seven blue-tipped strings. These strings symbolized different characters like blue-tipped strings were dwarves, the red-tipped string was the witch, and the all white string was Snow White.

So, if you follow me, we all pulled strings with Natsumi going last. Everyone except for Usagi, who got the red-tipped string, pulled blue...and the last string was conveniently white. We can't prove it, but we are pretty certain she painted all the tips of the strings blue, except for the red one and when it was her turn she just pulled the end off of her string so that it appeared all white.

It's a simple trick and because we didn't want to fight with one another we didn't say anything. I feel a little sick about it myself...and I understand Usagi's feelings...

Something like that wouldn't be worth fighting over. How do you cheat a role? Isn't there an audition?

[ 'okay' is sick but that's just thursday. shh. ] What role did you get? [ not one of the dwarfs because you are way too tall, mako. ]

That's underhanded but honestly Usagi is letting Natsumi win by allowing this to get to her. She's giving her all the power.

No, it's not worth it at all. Ah...well we don't have a lot of time to do things up right so we drew strings...well Natsumi suggested it. What happened though was that she painted all of the tips of the strings blue except for one, she painted red, and we were supposed to draw these strings to see what role we would get. Now she claimed there was a white one in there and the white one would be the role of snow white. Everyone except for Usagi picked blue...Usagi got the red string so she is the witch. Finally it was Natsumi's turn and she just pulled the colored tip off of her string while withdrawing it from her own hand so it appeared to be white. No one said anything because it really is pointless fighting over it, but cheating is never a good thing either...so I'm a little conflicted too...

[Oh Steve, even though she doesn't know that you're sick, feel better!] Ahhh...well...now that you mention it...[reaches off Camera and pulls on her gorilla head]...there weren't enough people for dwarves so this is Natsumi's new take on Snow White...I'm so embarrassed, Steve.

Yeah, I think that's one way to look at it, Usagi is extremely jealous that Natsumi get's to kiss Mamoru...and that's probably intentional which makes it worse. Even I don't have any kind of advice right now...and I'm also dealing with my own role.

Oh. She really did cheat. That isn't fair. You should have said something even if fighting about it would be silly. Asked her why she would do that.

I think I'd be too. [ oh he had to crack a little smile at that. pfft. ] ...why a gorilla? You should be able to pick if you're changing the story anyway.

It's just a kiss though.

Normally I wouldn't have a problem giving Natsumi a piece of my mind if this wasn't Mamoru's college project. I already know why she cheated though, but letting her think she got away with it...it's irritating, but for the sake of Mamoru's hard work I'll bite my tongue and save it for another day.

Yeah...[She's very aware of how silly it looks...oh how her self concept will suffer]...My thoughts exactly...like change it to six dwarves or something...but this has to do with the people in change of costumes...I don't know. I'm just trying not to be a difficult actress.

Heh...I guess you would have to be a girl in love, Hashiba-san. Though Usagi and Mamoru aren't dating now, they were lovers in their past lives and Usagi remembers this and Mamoru doesn't. I think that makes it harder on Usagi to see him kiss another girl.

You wouldn't tell Mamoru about it?

[ poor Mako. ] Hmm. I'm sure you'll play the best gorilla.

He doesn't remember?

No, he lost one cast already and he has a lot on his plate as well, I'm not so sure it would be fair to dump this decision on him and force him to choose.

You're darn right! I don't think anyone will ever play a better gorilla...except for those Planet of the Apes folks!

No, when we got our memories back his never returned. Usagi is making it her mission to try and jog his memory.

If they were lovers in their past lives then it's likely he'll remember in time.

Alright. But if she's changing the script you should make the play more about the witch than Snow White. The Queen and her... amazing gorilla henchman.
