 Every once and a while, I notice that Darcy posts a list of things she would want to do before she is no longer of this world. Perhaps I should make one now that I, too am mortal now.  But, I do not know what it is mortals aspire for, perhaps I have already done what many have wished in the thousands of years that I was alive and now what? 

[ignore the fact that he really does sound like he's having a midlife crisis here] 

What is that mortals wish to do with themselves? Or, I should say, what is it that I should aspire to do before I die?

Usually mortals want to find love, have a family, and grow old with the people they care for most. It goes without saying you take care of those people along the way, but just in case it's not obvious now you know.

[A beat.] You know you still have another thirty years at the very least, right?

Darcy's list is just a list of goals in case the community cuts her out. Not if she dies. You shouldn't think you need to write a will.

[how can he grow old with the people he cares the most when they will never age and he is exiled.]

Only thirty years? For you, it may seem like a long time, but for me those will go by in an instant.

Maybe. If you focus on putting as much good as you can into that instant, does it really matter?

No, but I "googled" this "bucket list" and that is what I was told would happen. A "will" is something to leave behind to those you care for and of that, I have nothing that could possibly be of value to you -- [HE CATCHES HIMSELF] or the others.

It can. People can live full and happy lives even with less time than that.

depends, every person it's different. It really doesn't matter if you are mortal or not, in my opinion.

What makes you happy?

Yet they know where to start, whereas I am lost before I can even begin.

The things that would make me happy are beyond my reach. No longer can I be in the company of my friends nor can I go on adventures with them.

That's really unfortunate. Not strange to some of us either.

Ysually, when that happens, you find new friends and new adventures.

[There's a careful pause here. The irony of this is not lost on her for a minute as someone hiding all their problems so they can take them on solo.

Her tone doesn't betray that at all. She still sounds like the supportive, well meaning friend.]

A wise one. There's no shame in letting people help you if you're lost. It's actually kind of brave to trust people enough to set you straight.

Think about it being more about doing the most with your life, instead of doing things before it ends.

You don't know what will come in the future. There was a purpose to everything father did. He wouldn't....he wouldn't have wanted for you to die.
