[The feed turns on in an office. It's very sparse, almost clinical looking, with silver walls and dark monitors everywhere. There's a giant SHIELD emblem on the wall directly behind the chair... the chair currently occupied by a rather disgruntled looking Nick Fury. He's leaning back in said chair with his feet on the desk and his fingers laced together in front of his chest.]

Now I've heard about some of these viruses. I find it difficult to believe that a virus can change a person's mental state beyond driving them completely insane. However, I find myself in a position where I have no choice but to acknowledge the existence of such things and now must ask - how long do the effects generally last? Bec-

[There's a knocking on his office door. He rolls his eye and barks in that direction]

What part of 'leave me the hell alone' is so difficult to understand?

[He slams his hand down on the desk and the feed cuts. Excuse him, folks, he's got some bitching out to do. He'll return in a moment.]

It seems like a few days to a couple of weeks. That's just observations from the time I've been here.

Probably your tone, sir. I'm just not sure you actually mean it.

[She's just staring at the moment. She seems to be looking over your office.]

They seem relatively quick to come on and quick to leave.

[...oh Coulson is glad that he's not there in person right now. Yup. Really glad.]

It sounds like you're having a tough day, sir. Anything I can do to help?

[ Bruce's voice is snappy, colder than usual - his own irritation (because he's said this he doesn't know how many times now) boosted and bolstered by Loki's own kettle of fuck the universe. ]

Yeah, sucks not to have anybody actually listen for once, doesn't it?

Computer trouble, Director McBadass?

[someone's very happy he got left out this time. it means he gets to troll, and he's loving it]

Oh, I don't think I've ever seen one last more than a week. Unless things have changed in the past year or so, at least.

This is actually relatively tame compared to some viruses I've seen, so it should be over relatively quickly; they tend to last longer the more bizarre they are.
hulk: (Getting angry doesn't help.)

What does it matter how long it will last - it won't stop you from having to just shut up and deal with it.
hulk: (Going to have to watch that temper.)

No, the thing that gives me carte blanche? Is a thing called freedom of speech - emphasis on free. If you don't like it, you can go take a long walk off a short pier. All right?

How do you expect people to treat you with respect when you do not in the first place?

I'm afraid so. As I said, possibly closer to the shorter end of the range.

At least this is better than the one with the lizard things. I think they were called dinosaurs?

There seem to be two types. Shorter viruses, which last one or two days, and longer ones which can go as long a a week. The longer the virus, the more devastating the consequences, as a general rule.

[Oh, she finally looks at you. Hello person. She thinks your office is interesting. However, she really doesn't talk much. It's kind of more annoying then it's worth. Instead she just shakes her head and cuts the feed]

I like that office...[He feels like he likes it. It's serious and cold looking and that's exactly what he enjoys right now, but Sebastian has no idea why he enjoys that.]

They usually last for days. [Have a deadpan glare. Aren't virus wonderful?]

Doctor Jane Foster has an entire information packet on the viruses. She would be more that willing to share if you asked.

The average is 2-4 days unless it's one of the multiple viruses.

It should pass in a few days, sir. I am sorry that it is inconveniencing you.
