So. Question time, I guess. I've got this friend who really likes romance novels and things. I figured I'd get them a gift but, uh.

I don't really know anything about that sort of thing? Give me a sports film or action movie any day. So, I guess my question is:

What kind of romantic stories do you like? So I can try to figure out exactly what to get.

Romance novels, huh? Like the cute kind or the really dirty kind or the kind that always has cowboys on the cover for some reason? The checkout counter has a bunch of those at just about every store.

Movies work, too! Not the dirty kind, though. Just. The normal kind where they get together, maybe fight, and hopefully make up at the end.

I enjoy the ones where boy meets girl, and together, they change each other's lives. Over time, they do not even realize that they are falling in love, and the love between them just happens on it's own.

I actually wouldn't know a lot about that. It's embarrassing, but yeah...

They can be long, yes, but I like those stories for very true they can be. Are you looking for something shorter?

Neither do I. My friend. Just really likes that kind of thing.

I'm too embarrassed to. It doesn't fit my image, so people kind of laugh at me.

I guess if it's more true to life I can handle that.

That's no good! It doesn't matter if it fits your image or not.

I can't say I can give any recommendations by name, it has been a while since I read anything romantically related. But stories like that can be found in all sorts of media. I just happen to run into them through manga, but there are novels and even movies. So if you have that kind of story in mind as what you are looking for, you can approach the genre and find it.
