[ the scene itself is unimpressive and uninteresting. celty - wearing her helmet - is sitting in a park beside a blonde man who is smoking. they appear to be chatting. in the background, there's a young couple fighting, and the girl suddenly runs off, past celty and the man. (notably strange? the girl has a huge surgical scar that goes all the way around her neck.) what is interesting is this: celty jumps to her feet and grabs the girl's arm violently, pulling her to a stop.

the girl takes one look at celty and starts screaming in horror. ]

NO! STOP, GO AWAY!

[ she continues to shriek and flail around desperately even when the blonde man approaches. ] Alright, stop with the hysterics. Relax. We're not here to hurt you. [ the screaming crescendos and the girl slaps the man in the face. ] ... Did you hear what I just said? Ah—

[ a boy stabs the man in the leg with a pen, and again with another. meanwhile, the girl escapes, and celty runs after her, pauses for a moment to look back at the man - ]

Go on, don't worry about me. It doesn't hurt. Go. I don't know what this is all about, but you do what you gotta do. [ he slaps himself. ] Heh, I've always wanted to say this. Go on ahead and leave this one to me! Got it?

[ celty nods and jumps on her motorcycle - which whinnies like a horse - and goes tearing down the street after the girl that escaped. ]

... That was my head! That girl, the one that ran away from me? She has my head on her body!!

I don't know. I'm so confused right now... I have no idea how she found it, or why it's on her body at all. I've never seen her before today, and she escaped with someone before I could ask her anything about it.

Well, can you get it back? [ she wants to ask how exactly celty sees anything, but that would probably be rude ]

I'm going to keep looking for her until I find her again. She ran away with a boy that I know lives in Ikebukuro, so if I can get to him...

... But Shinra had a good point, as much as I hate to admit it. When I do find her, I don't how I would get it back. I can't just... ask her to take her head off for me.

Well... I don't know how that's going to be possible. I can't just rip her head off, right? And who knows why it's even on her body. What I need to do is find her and talk to her. If that's my head, then it should be able to explain things to me.

I just don't understand any of it... Where did someone find my head? Why is it attached to this girl? Why did she scream when she saw me?

No... She got away, and now some girl is running around Ikebukuro with my head on her shoulders without me having any idea why.

I don't know! I don't know how someone else could have my head. As far as I could tell, that girl was just an ordinary human.

Right, but... It ran away from me. What am I supposed to think about that? The only conclusions I can draw are the obvious ones, and I don't even want to consider them!

To be completely honest, the logic behind this is already starting to confuse me. Is she the one in control of what she's doing, or is your head influencing the rest of her?

Well, if it's my head, then surely it must have a say in what's going on... It as all of my memories in it too, so that girl should have known who I am. And even knowing, she started screaming like that - I don't know. I'm really confused, Diarmuid. Shinra isn't helping at all... In fact, he's making things worse.

I think I should just find her and try to talk to her. If I can just get her to explain it to me, I don't care what the explanation is.
