*It's hard to tell what's being shown as the video portion keeps moving all over the place. Perhaps they don't know it's on. There's a scream from somewhere.*

PAIN! PANIC!

*Two other people holding the video scream back in fright and the video changes to falling headlong into a swirling vortex of green. The video goes in a sickening circle as it spirals down, down, down. After some time, it stops as the book (for that's what this object is) hits the ground. The light fades to something distant, as though looking up from the bottom of a ravine.

Something drags something heavy. There's just a brief glimpse of a hand trying to reach and a heavy manacle around a wrist before the hand is yanked back. The sound of a chain slithers against a wall. Silence for a while.*

At least...at least it's something to look at. Whatever it is. *It's an old, tired voice. Whoever it is can't seem to get any closer.*

[He knows that voice anywhere, even if he can't see him and he's in some strange place. Still, he asks tentatively, as if even he's unsure.]

Hunh. How does a book know my name? *There's another strained scrape of chain against rock, but to no avail.* Why do you sound familiar?

Something to talk at, too. Why are you in jail?

[It's gathering information time!]

Because it's not really a normal book. Oh, we just met once for about five minutes.

*It's a different voice coming from the book. It's forcing him to think, which is something he hasn't had to do in what feels like a long time.*

I...I don't remember. I don't remember how I got here.

What's the last thing you remember? Can you see, hear or smell things in the prison that might identify where you are?

If it ended up here, it can't be normal. *Great, now he's talking to voices in a book. This isn't helping him trying to get it together. Or..is it? It's forcing him to think and to talk, something he hasn't had to do in quite a while.*

*There's silence on the other end for a while as Auron tries to mull over the information.*

I was supposed to go somewhere...I was sent somewhere else but something happened. I got caught and was pulled somewhere far away.

*But where is he now? What does the book want to know?* There's no one else here. I can't really see anything except that I'm in a prison deep underground. Or...or in a pit. And I'm chained to a wall.

[Wow... For a moment, Jecht sounds almost hesitant.]

Red? That you?

*Who called him that ever? Only one person. Even as fogged as his head is, he knows this voice. Except it can't be him because he knows what happens.*

...oh. I'm dreaming now. Because you're talking to me. *His voice sounds sad.*

Sorry, man. No such luck.

Fuck. Where are you? I'll get a worldhop from the freak, or something. What the hell, man, are those shackles?

Where is "here"? That doesn't look like the Farplane.

I'm glad you remembered that much. What...happened to you? [he narrows his eyes.] Where are you? I'll get you out of wherever it is!

Supposed to go somewhere. Do you remember where? This sounds like a kidnapping. Do you have any important skills a kidnapper would want? Status? Money?

[You don't just get kidnapped for no reason, right?]

The Farplane...*Wait. That's the place where he was supposed to go. But didn't.*

I don't know. *He knows this voice though. So he feels better about talking to it.* I'm not sure where I am or how I got here. Or how long I've been here. But I feel more...aware since the book fell near me.

*Such priorities, Kefka!*

I was supposed to go to...the Farplane. *Yes, that's right.* For skills? Well...I can use a sword but so can a lot of people.

*But it has to be a dream. Because Sin is Jecht. So he'll just enjoy hearing Jecht's voice, knowing it would go away.*

Heh. You always argue with me, even in my dreams. I don't know where I am or how I got here. Maybe...maybe this is my reward for breaking everything. It must have all been put on me instead of everyone else.

*A new voice from the book he can't get to.*

[Who messes around with someone's afterlife? Seriously? That's...actually really disturbing. He needs to investigate! (If that's the case, anyway.)]

[It's always strange to just hear someone but it's like a phone so maybe she should be used to it?]

You're as vague as ever. [Auron can't see him, but he might be able to tell there's a little crooked smile at that.] Just keep talking. If the book is helping, maybe you'll wake up more. Or whatever happened to you.

[ ... wait. isn't that the Underworld? and... someone Sora knows? ... Auron? ]

Wait, why are you locked up?

I welcome you, sir... that does not look like a good place you are in.

If I'm always vague when I talk to you, I must cause you a lot of grief. *But somehow he suspects it was the other way around.*
