[The video feed seems to be hovering overhead of Link, as usual, the community always sees whatever Navi sees. Link is seen at Lon Lon Ranch, he's sitting on top of one of the crates scattered around the ranch, a piece of grass in his hand that he's fiddling with. There's the sounds of chickens, horses, and cows in the background but he's not paying attention to anything else really.

A sigh escapes his lips before he looks up at the camera, only to look away once more.]

...Has anyone ever.... [gosh, how does one go about this subject?] ...I got my first medallion after defeating the evil in the Forest Temple around here, I saw my childhood friend, Saria and she... she's a sage of the forest.

[He drops the piece of grass, pulling his legs up on the crate and hugging them to his chest.] ...I'm not complaining, I know what being a hero means, but I guess I'm just... I can't see her ever again, I can talk to her sometimes though.

I found out that I'm definitely a Hylian though, not a Kokiri. My parents died protecting me and entrusted me to the Great Deku Tree, it's why I never had a fairy growing up. It's just.... everything at once I guess, I don't know what to even think right now.

[he nods and then the video cuts off, he'll reply after gathering his thoughts.]

[Diarmuid sighed, looking strangely tired as he thought over exactly what to say.]

You're right. Being a hero is just as often painful as it is rewarding. Or even more so, sometimes...sadly there's often nothing that can be done to remedy one's circumstances.

She's not lost.... not really, I just can't ever see her again.

I'm starting to realize that, but it's not like I'll stop being a hero- I can't just stop I have stuff to do still.

It's good that you should have that kind of dedication. There have been many would-be heroes lacking the conviction to see things through to the end.

...I just can't think like that at all, I would feel horrible about leaving things unfinished.

An excellent quality to have, in my opinion.

[but because of that he puts other before himself so much he becomes sad sometimes like this.]

[You're talking to a guy who feels legitimate guilt when he does anything for himself, Link.]

I would not have said it if I didn't. A hero should never leave things half-finished, and should certainly never give up of his own will.

[tunics]

If someone does that I don't think they're really a hero.

[croibhristeoir]

No, perhaps not. It...would be terrible for one to abandon that which they set out to accomplish. Often I wonder if even death would be a preferable option to such cowardice.

...Death rather than giving up?

I don't know, I would just keep going for as long as I could.

...I suppose that...trying one's best is important in itself, is it not? Even if you're not able to see things through to the end?

[tunics]

I'm... determined to see things through until the end.

[if he didn't then he would just regret everything so much. maybe eve become a wandering spirit.]

[So was I, he almost said, the words bitten back with a flicker of regret as the only trace they'd even been considered.]

I truly hope that you can. I am relieved at least to know of your dedication to the task.

Don't worry, you'll see... I can do this. [he just needs to keep hoping he can. He has the triforce of courage after all, he won't stop.]

I just need to go to four more temples and get more medallions.

[Diarmuid paused for a second at that, expression becoming marginally less distraught as he thought something over carefully.]

...You must be rather good with a sword, yes?

[tunics]

Of course. [the master sword is his baby.]

Why are you asking?

I might be able to teach you to be even better.

[One does not underestimate a man crazy enough to use two swords.]

[...Oh? He perks up at that.]

I'm hardly a clumsy idiot with a blade. If I may perhaps sound arrogant for just a moment, it was by my hand some of the best knights of my time were trained. It would be my pleasure were I allowed to extend the same offer to others now.
