[A battle had broken out in the beach along with an argument between Kanade and Souta. While Hibiki engaged the Negatone who had been made from the box of cupcakes that Souta had made, Hibiki grit her teeth and pushed the Negatone back. Kanade had lost a lot of her power, due to the conflict in her heart as her Harmony Power had been severely disrupted.

With several blows from a powerless Rhythm, it seemed hopeless for her to achieve victory. Seiren looked pretty smug from her end.]

Seiren: It's hopeless for you, why don't you give it up?

Kanade: I'm the older sister. I cannot leave my precious brother behind even if I lost my powers!

Hibiki: ...

Seiren: Enough acting tough. Negatone, go!

[With the Negatone charging for Rhythm, Melody jumped in front as she clashed with the Negatone.]

Hibiki: My pride rides on defeating this!

[As Hibiki fought, Rhythm charged into the glowing mess as she stretched out her hand.]

Rhythm: Give me your hand!

Souta: Sis doesn't care about me! I hate her!

Rhythm: That's not true! Your sister cares about you!

Souta: No matter what I do, she gets mad at me! What should I do?!

Rhythm: If she doesn't care for you, she won't get mad! It's because she cares for you that she gets mad!

Souta: It's because she cares?

Rhythm: People who don't care won't get mad. Your sister cares for you.

Souta: But she'll get mad at me. We fight all the time.

Rhythm: You just have to make up with her. Like always, right? Here, give me your hand. [She stretches her hand out to him.] Let's go home to where your sister is.

[And with that, Rhythm pulled him out of despair. However, the Negatone launched an attack at them seconds afterwards. With the tender moment almost cut short via cupcake bombs, Melody leaped into the fray again, kicking and punching the explosives to the sides.]

Melody: I won't let you hurt Rhythm and her brother! They are awesome! They always fight with each other, but protect each other when it counts, like it's the most natural thing in the world.

Seiren: So what? You're not related, right?

Melody: That's right. I'm an only child. I don't have anyone like that.

Seiren: Then just leave them alone. You have nothing to do with them.

Melody: That's right, but I don't want them to feel lonely. They are precious to me, so I want them to be like me and Rhythm, always fighting and always making up. Their feelings... Their connecting hearts... I'll protect them all!

[What happened next? Pure and astute asskicking.]

I know the feeling... Melody really went all-out there. The Belltier is a powerful weapon...

Besides, it's not like you're not powerful too. You might even be stronger than we are, since we're just starting out.

You don't know how happy I am to hear that. It's been so hard, but... we're making real progress here.

It really is. And getting a power up so soon... our only secondary power right now is a all-teammate attack, Rainbow Healing.

I guess most of our powers are emphasizing team attacks lately.

I think we were doing pretty awesome out there, although it was kind of messy at the beginning.

It's good to see you two improving. It's also a relief that not all your powers will have to require both of you.

But our transformation does. On the bright side, once we transform, even if we're separated Hibiki can take care of herself.

You're just starting, of course it will be messy. [not that she's that lenient with Blossom and Marine, but hey.] The most important part was that you now better understand the Precure's mission.

Exactly. Even if you have to transform together, your enemies won't be able to separate you afterwards just to weaken you. It will make you more adaptable, which is very important.

Yeah that's true. We've had what, four battles under our belt now? Five? Even with a power up this soon and all I do understand things better now.

Hm, you've gotten your new power so soon? Usually it takes a bit longer.

Yeah I got a Miracle Belltier today. Hummy was talking about it a day before and I guess it happened.

Exactly. And nothing says awesome like being able to kick some butt.

Interesting. It's a good sign, though, that you're unlocking your potential this quickly.

Well, strength is certainly a big part of being a Precure. It's good that you'll be able to handle yourself even if you're separated from Kanade-san during battle.

Yeah true enough. I just hope this isn't a sign of quick escalation of our fights.

True. And hey, now I have a finisher, so I don't need to worry Kanade if that tourney is held.

If it is, there's little else you can do but keep fighting harder.

I do hope Kanade-san gets her finishing move soon, or else there will be trouble if something happens to you in a battle.

Yeah. I can only imagine it'll get harder as time goes on.

I hope so too. Kanade was dealing with a crisis so I suppose I needed to get my finisher.

[tranquilrhythm]

We only have a team attack, though. If I'm by myself I can't actually do anything except wait for Melody. And that's going to get rough.

Well... define "weaken". If they separate us and disable Melody, we're sunk; I can't do anything without her, still. I agree that her having the ability to take care of things on her own is good, but...

But that makes... two finishers so far! If the first doesn't work, get Melody to make with the boom. You don't have to wait, since it's a team effort. Right?

It will. While you're working hard to improve your power and strategies, the enemy will be doing the same thing. Soon enough they'll start taking you seriously.

It will be problematic if it takes too long, but it's not something you can force, either. I hope luck is on your side.

Oh my! Real magical girls! I knew there had to be some out there! The idea for all the shows had to come from somewhere!

Right, but what if something happens to her? Not that I plan to let anything happen to her, but... you know what I mean, I think.

That's true and I'm not suggesting you let your guard down during battle. But if Cure Melody is able to unlock such a power, I'm certain you're able to as well.
