The ewes back home must be making milk for the spring lambs about now. The cross-quarter sabbat is here. Will we see spring soon? Or is there still snow yet to fall? The day seems cloudy here, which means that, for us anyway, spring is soon to come. The serpent has tested the weather and declared thus.

Imbolc? What's that? Is it your birthday or something?

Nay. This is the Greater Sabbat day of the Maiden Nayru when the snake emerges from the womb of the earth to test the weather and see if Spring is soon to come. Back in Ordona I would be chanting over the seeds and agricultural tools to be sure of a good season of crops. And the animals would be with child.

Imbolc, first day of a cycle of rebirth. So, on this day, we make our pledges for the year to come as well.

.........no. But... it's always a good time to make a new start, I guess.

Do you have any pledges, then?

I don't know. I've been thinking about moving out and getting a place with my brother and Yunalesca when we get her back. Onii-san says that being away from Kaa-san would be good for me.

It is something to consider then.

Yeah, I think so. But... I love Kaa-san. I can't help it. If I move away from her, it'll either make me totally free, or destroy me.

I know, it's just... it's so difficult for me. I love my girlfriend, and I love her... I can't be apart from either of them.

Does being away from one mean you must sever contact? I have not seen home in almost two lunar cycles but I carry the memory of my loved ones close to my heart. I have keepsakes, as well. So they are always with me in a sense. And when I am back in the area, I shall visit. I know not if your situation permits these things but you never have to truly leave the ones you love.

But if I leave Kaa-san... I don't know if she'll ever forgive me. And if I lose her love, then I lose my reason to exist.
