video

[The video turns on revealing an old woman, dressed in a plain, grey dress, with a warm shawl around her shoulders. She is set in a chair, looking down at the recording curiously.]

Ah! There it is. I thought that it might work.

This must be the community of ducks my dear niece was telling me about. Great-niece, actually, but never mind that.

I thought I should inform you all that my niece, Miss Sophie Hatter, has decided to go forth and seek her fortune. She left her magic book in my care, you see so I imagine she will be out of touch for quite some time. She told me of her friends here, and wishes you not to worry. She will be quite alright, I imagine.

My name is Sophie as well. Old Sophie, that is. She is my namesake, after all. [She gives a wry smile.] A pleasure to meet you all, even if the method is rather strange.

How remarkable. I didn't know one could transfer their contact to the community like that.

[If that seems accusatory, it certainly doesn't sound it.]

It's nice to meet you as well.
croibhristeoir: (and the sun is high)

....Well. I do not think I've been called that in a very long time.

My name is Diarmuid. I can't say that I knew Sophie particularly well, but I would wish her nothing but the best of fortunes.
croibhristeoir: (and I’ll keep paying)

Oh, you hardly need to be formal. Just calling me by name alone is fine.

I must say, you're taking the general existence of the community quite well.
croibhristeoir: (use them and let's start trying)

I wish I could say the same. I simply find more things that surprise me every single day--it's truly remarkable.

[diarmuid you are going to confuse people talking like that...]
croibhristeoir: (unpredictable but in the end it's right)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2013-05-03 10:15 pm (UTC)(link)
Er...well, actually that is something of a complex matter when it comes to me. I suppose in the most technical sense, I'm still twenty-five.
croibhristeoir: (look so fine; really wanna make you mine)

[personal profile] croibhristeoir 2013-05-03 10:28 pm (UTC)(link)
Would you believe I was born at least two thousand years ago?

As a result, though I've not lived through all that time, I find describing my age to be a matter of some difficulty.
croibhristeoir: (but it was not your fault but mine)

Magic, basically.

More or less. It's a complicated thing, but that's not a bad way to describe it.
