So... I know that there's a lot of people here who are worried about my brother being trapped in Sword Art Online.

I think I might've found something that might be able to help those of us that are trying to get him and everyone out. It's... well, it's something that's going to be released soon called the AmuSphere. It's pretty much a NerveGear without the parts of it that can kill someone. And it's compatible with all of the NerveGear's software.

I don't know much about computers or this stuff, but even I know that means that if we can figure out how to get in and if we can get the software, that the AmuSphere should be able to play Sword Art Online.

I just... have no idea how we're going to make that happen. Does anyone here know enough about computers to possibly be able to help with that?

It's not a NerveGear, but I think this is the best that we're going to get. We just need to wait a few more months for it to come out. And I guess figure out a way to get more than one of them. It's not like we're going to be able to use the same one at the same time. And I doubt I'll be able to convince my mother to buy me two of them.

... It looks like it's about five to six months. I wish it was coming out sooner, but I guess this stuff is more complicated than it seems.

Mmmph, well I guess that does require some work at getting it safe for the populace to use again.

Or they might just need that much time for people to be willing to try using them again. After... well, Sword Art Online that wouldn't surprise me.

Well, it'll probably be hard to do if they've really made the AmuSphere completely safe. They say that it can't block out everything like the NerveGear does.

That's true. The NerveGear practically puts the user into a lucid coma.

... I'm glad that we don't need to worry about that with this new one.

Yeah I guess not. I've got a note from me saying "ALO is safe for entry" but no major details yet.

I'm... not sure. I'll keep looking, but I think my brother would have better luck figuring this stuff out.

It... really sucks. Considering we'd need to wait for around six more months in my world the pass before we can get them at retail.

... Of course, we need to hope that a lot of people still alive in there last long enough for us to help.

... Yurippe mentioned trying to get into a beta test or something so we can get one sooner. Do you have any idea on how we could do that?

Hmm... well, when I signed up for SAO, I had to go to the website and sign up for the Beta. It's a selection process, but they approve people in hundreds. If the game is already in beta then...

But are Yurippe and I going to have to use the same Amusphere and account? That might not help us all too much... and is this just for the game or the hardware too?

[It's not like they had a useable NerveGear, after all.]

Let me dig in a little, see what we've got.

[A few swipes of his finger and he's reading off the fine print.] Closed beta, etc, etc, huh, keeping your character data from before that's the same as SAO, here we go. If multiple people in the same household apply for the beta and are accepted, a limit of five AmuSphere will be shipped to it, along with copies of ALO for each AmuSphere.

I guess it's a promotion, to keep the company RTC from going under.

Set up a dummy email for Yurippe I'm thinking, and then use my own email. They shouldn't really look too hard at the name on it. Usual password for me.

And if I can figure out how to explain getting multiples of this thing to Mom.
