Neverending battle

Marvelous, right? I've got a question--one that might be important to the future of my world.

Does this look familiar to you? This battle? Because I think I might have 14 years to avert another massive invasion of my planet.

The Gigant Horse. So...these guys are your version of Zangyack. And...somehow mixed with Brajira.

[He'll sit back, holding his hand to his mouth in thought.]

And those kids are your Goseigers.

Seems things are complicated on your end. You ready for a bit of storytime?

Trust me, huge alliances of enemies aren't anything new. But I thought it would be a lot more than 15 years before they managed to reorganize themselves again.

Ready as I'll ever be. I'd rather get the story while I've got time to work things out.

Thing is, on my side, neither of them are associated with each other.

[He'll grab the last volume of Gai's encyclopedia. At least it'll be useful.]

Brajira is a fallen Gosei Angel, pretty much a puppet master for every enemy the Goseiger faced. According to this, he fell long before Zangyack showed up here. But they did attack in similar fashion. They like that: show up to a world with a gigantic armada and just blast everything they can find. It also helps when it's the element of surprise. They even got by SPD's sensors.

Only difference: that flagship didn't show up till we did here. Probably just an action commander on our side.

That first invasion: it was only stopped when the Super Sentai of Earth gave up their powers to use as a weapon to wipe out the armada all at once. Unluckily for them, that was just one fleet. So, even if on your end you do stop them in a similar way, you might have more armies on the way.

And I'm not entirely certain you guys have a version of us ready.

[He's obviously blocking something out there.]

There have to be at least 20 Ranger teams on Earth. To slip past any of them...

The only way we managed to defeat the last army like that was for someone to die--it sounds like the kind of last-ditch effort the Sentai made. Just enough good energy to wipe out the fleet. But we don't have anyone that powerful anymore, and just to ask that...

Remember: they got the drop on 34 teams on our side; one of them a space police that spans a good chunk of the galaxy. And likely past another entirely different set of space police.

[He'll frown.]

Then you're going to have to find another way. You do have time on your side. Just be careful of what you say and who to: if these guys are anything like Zangyack, they have eyes and ears everywhere.

And I wouldn't put it past them not to attack Mirinoi, with its lower technology level, or KO-35 when it's just been resettled.

...You said something about an SPD--some kind of space patrol?

[sumofallreds]

SPD: Space Police Dekaranger. They're a police force in the galaxy, handling high levels of alien crime. Each branch handles the affairs of it's planet. The Earth Branch is one of their more notable members.

They almost totally arrested us. Well..they got me, then I managed to get out of it.

Maybe we need more organization, then. There are Rangers from at least four different planets. Even if we have to keep it a secret just for the Rangers themselves, we might be able to help fortify the Earth against another attack like this.

Sounds like a plan to me. Just, try to take it slow. Covert. So they won't see it building till it's too late.

[powerofpink]

There might be something to work off of to begin with. When I was first joining the GSA, they were trying to consult with something called Operation Lightspeed--I think it was a military response to the Rangers or something. Not surprising after 5 years of them.

A good a foundation as any.

And I can start with the previous Rangers. I think Tommy and Adam were active the longest, so that's something.

Do you often have to deal with such invasions?

[powerofpink]

Only one on this kind of scale before, and it was a year ago.

[elloran]

Your world must be important, to be fought over so often.

[powerofpink]

I'm not sure why, considering how far behind so many other planets we are in technology.

[elloran]

Perhaps they have agreed to use your planet as a battle ground rather than risk losing their own planet's infrastructure.

[powerofpink]

That's what it seems like, sometimes.

[elloran]

Do they have the right to do this?

[powerofpink]

Not that I know of. But apparently, our moon was the site where an ancient witch was imprisoned, and then the wizard who imprisoned her was imprisoned in a time warp on our planet. From the sound of it, it was just an accident, and now nobody's left us alone.

Hmm. So there are no galactic ordinances declaring your Earth a battle ground?

[powerofpink]

I think by now, we'd have heard something.

[elloran]

One would think. You do have a connection to the wider galactic government, correct?

[powerofpink]

Barely. I think it's on Eltare, but nobody's heard much from them in a while. I think it might have been attacked.

[elloran]

You have no representative of your world that can speak on your behalf to the wider galaxy?

[powerofpink]

Not really, no.

[elloran]

Perhaps you should create one.

[powerofpink]

That may be the best idea. And especially if we can form a coalition with the other vulnerable planets, it might give us more clout.

[elloran]

Do you have faster than light communications yet?

[powerofpink]

We do, but they're not always the most reliable. They break down a bit with distance. Other planets are more advanced, so we've been trying to study their methods.

[elloran]

Have you found any other planets that are besieged like yours is?

[powerofpink]

There was KO-35, a colony world that had to be evacuated after a massive attack three years ago. They've only just rewon their world back. And the planet we've landed on, Mirinoi, was attacked for the mystical artifacts that had been left there after a war about three thousand years ago.

It seems your galaxy is filled with naught but random strife. How have you managed to survive thus far?

[powerofpink]

Transformation powers and access to giant robots.

[elloran]

What are these "robots" you speak of?

[powerofpink]

Well, for us, they were giant, mystical beasts with elemental powers. But with the help of a specific weapon, they can take on a mechanical form, which lets them fight more effectively and combine into a single, larger, humanoid mechanical creature that's a better fighter against the monsters that are sent against us.

That seems rather inefficient.

[powerofpink]

It actually works pretty well, since it draws off our own powers and unites them.

[elloran]

That requires super-human powers, yes? So normal people would be unable to defend your homeworld?

[powerofpink]

Our weaponry's okay, but it can only do so much. Blaster shots don't always penetrate the enemies' armor or hides.

[elloran]

It sounds as if you need stronger allies.

[powerofpink]

That's what we're working on, but everyone's still shaken up from the war a year ago. There's a lot of scrambling to regain power on both sides.

[elloran]

Wars in your galaxy seem so...muddled, forgive me for saying.

[powerofpink]

No need to apologize. That's pretty much it.

[elloran]

Perhaps if you become the dominant species, you will be able to do better.

[powerofpink]
