I have seen that many of you have used this site to find personal answers. I, as much as I hate to say it around you humans, have a profound issue that I can not answer alone. So I want to ask you a few things in hopes of finding some answers...What is life? Is it decided by your origins? Can you only be classified as 'alive' if you are born a certain way?

(Mewtwo sighs heavily.)

How can one know why they came to be? I wish to hear your thoughts.

I...don't think it has anything to do with how you were born. I think if you have a heart, you're alive. But then, it's hard to say.

Is there any way you can give me more information? I'm not sure how to answer.

...I am a clone. I was made from the genetics of Mew, the ancestor of all Pokemon. I was told that I was made to be an experiment for humans trying to play god. It makes me wonder if I am truly alive or if I am but a shadow of my other.

I'm sorry that they treated you like that. But I don't think you're just a shadow. You're whoever you want to be. You have the freedom to make that choice.

And there in lies the problem. I do not know what my purpose is so I do not know what I want. It pains me, the confusion that gnaws at my brain is unbearable. Worse, is in my limited time alive, I have had very little control of my own life. First I was locking inside a tube and now I am confined here. I doubt a human could understand that.

Do you think that it's purpose you need?

What do you mean? If I have a purpose, I know something that makes me in a sense real. What else would I need?

Well, I suppose it would depend on the purpose. Then again, I have already denied what was apparently supposed to be my purpose, so I doubt I would accept one I didn't like. But in the end, it would give me meaning. It would help me to not constantly reflect on the conditions of my being.

Then maybe you should look for a purpose. I don't think just waiting for one to find you is going to help. And if you find a purpose, then maybe that will help you feel like your life is justified.

I am working with Giovanni as it seems he might know something. I do not know if I can fully trust him but he is my only clue. If it turns out that he is just using me, well, let's just say I will have little need of him.
