If anyone sees Kido for maybe the next couple of days and he's not back to his usual stupidly happy self, another Rider died in my world. A friend of his, and he died saving Kido. On top of it, the guy gave me something that probably would have let him survive the battle, but...
Anyway, I just found out about it now. I tried to stop Kido and Yui from blaming themselves, but...I think I blew it. Yui ran off, and I think I left Kido worse off than before. I'm not exactly sure how to fix this.

[Normally he'd be more sympathetic but being blunt with Ren is a good idea.]

[And this is why he's been failing all over the place--he can't deal with the guilt.]

But, well... I'm not sure if there really is a way to fix things like this. Losing someone is really hard, and... it must be even harder if they died saving you. So... I think, maybe, all you can really do is be there for them both. Even if you can't convince them straight away that it's not their fault, if you're there for them and if you believe it, then maybe... I don't know. I'm probably not making sense. I'm sorry.

I'm sorry you're in this situation.

...That's just the way our lives are right now. I'm just going to do all I can to keep from being next.

Mm. Please try and be careful, Akiyama-san.

I'll try. Can't promise much.
