It's been some time since I've spoken to anyone here. I've been busy night and day, sewing wonderful words into my web to convince our resident farmer to spare the life of a friend of mine, and just yesterday we found out that it had worked. No matter what happens from now on, nobody is going to want to see "Zuckerman's Famous Pig" killed and served as somebody's dinner. Thank you for your words, to everyone that helped. I used many of them.

But now that all the excitement is over and done with, it seems I'm over and done with myself. I'm a very old spider, and I can feel my body slowing down. I very much doubt that I'll live longer than a few more hours.

Would anyone like to talk one last time?

I'm looking for words-- exceptional, impressive-sounding ones. The sort of words that you would use to describe a very good friend.

Would you help me?

Who was the human here who asked me if I knew a pig named Wilbur?

Yesterday I felt very weary and old. I thought I was going to die. Now I see that I'm not the only one.

Is it common for humans to get so upset about the natural order of things?

Who are you and what are you doing in my web?

[there's a very confused-looking woman staring into the screen]

... This is one of the last things I would have ever expected to happen to me.

It's strange-- nearly all of those that have found this place seem to be human, or at least humanoid, while I clearly am not. Why would it choose me of all creatures to partake in a human gathering?

Are there any other animals here at all?

[this is a spiderweb]

[being recorded, for about an hour]

[every so often, a spider will flit across it or a bug will get caught, but other than that, there's nothing more to see]
