It has... come to my
attention that the of violence observed on the community is reaching what can only be called
unacceptable levels.
I understand that some worlds, if not the majority of them, are not peaceful places to live. I would like to believe that worlds exist where atrocities are not committed every day, but I realize that such a thing is unlikely. I know that some of these situations are unavoidable, and that suggesting that we turn a blind eye to them is both ludicrous and naïve.
However, I also know that many of these recent acts of violents are
perpetrated by community members. I also know that frequently these incidents are between members opposed to one another.
I cannot demand that these incidents cease. I cannot order you to stop fighting amongst yourselves, nor can I expect these incidents to go unnoticed by the community.
I realize I come from a world where such thoughts are biased, where a request of ceasefire is followed by the echo of "or else" from an organization that lingers in the thoughts of the public as some sort of nightmare, some sort of legend. I cannot promise that somebody will follow through on that "or else", that the "slain titans" spread across the newspapers and excitable television documentaries will find their way back and stoop from their lofty aspirations of destroing the concept of warfare to deal with your quarrels personally.
But I can ask you. I can ask you to not only think of yourselves and the ones you commit these acts against, but of the people who are forced to view your actions. Of the people who are caught up in these ridiculous cycles of revenge and hostility.
You not only represent yourselves, but your worlds. Consider if this is the way you want your worlds to be known and remembered.
