[Aaaaand here is your resident Doctor's take on the situation!]

... You know, I'm getting a rather strange feeling of deja vu. Is it just me, or is this the second virus that we've had twice now? I know that time travel can mess with your sense of how much you've seen things, but this is just getting ridiculous now.

I don't know about the rest of you, but if you ask me, the community's running out of ideas.

Quite true. Although most viruses have had some sort of conscious component to them, I suppose it's not out of the question for one to occur that would effectively remove our knowledge of ever having been different.

On the other hand, perhaps it's you who are affected.

It would work both ways, wouldn't it? Either the people you think are affected have lost all memory of their unaffected selves, or you yourself have false memories of them. There's really no way to be sure.

You find the thought unsettling? At least you can take comfort in the fact that these things rarely last for more than a few days, hmm? You'll know for sure soon enough.

Out of curiosity, what sort of virus do you suspect this is?

How peculiar. So I suppose what you're suggesting is that my family, if I'm the one affected, is no more than a figment of my imagination?

Don't be. It's an interesting proposition to consider.

I suppose you could say that the nature of our perception of reality is something I've done quite a bit of thinking about.

That was an interesting experience, wasn't it? Although, I admit, not one I'd like to repeat.

I suppose that's true. Unfortunately, there really wasn't much I could do from the inside, as it were, especially since for quite a while I was thinking along the wrong lines as to the nature of my situation. I am very grateful for your assistance.

Yes, I suppose so. Still, I'm rather used to being the one who figu-- hmm. Best not to, I think.
