Well, Eva has, actually. I left the decision up to her. And she's chosen to spend ten thousand years with me as my equal; as an Avatar. Now, we really are partners for life.

I never thought about it too much. I was too busy doing other things. I know I don't believe in some gods.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Was raised Protestant (despite an overwhelming number of Catholics in my family) and I went to Sunday school and stuff, but I wasn't, you know, overly religious. I believed in God and Jesus, all of that. I always believed that my grandfather was up there in Heaven, always looking out for me and keeping me out of trouble.

By the way, how's Matthias doing?

He should be fine. Phoenix said he was going to pick him up from his father's house.

The break was nice and I feel a lot better now. It gave me a chance to get a lot of things done that I hadn't been able to for awhile. I even went in for work, and got everything moved to a new apartment.
But I do want my son back. Things will go better this time.

His father finally made contact with you? That's good. Is he going to start getting involved in caring for Matthias?

I can only imagine. I really commend you for sticking it out, being a single parent and all. You try so hard and sacrifice so much for your son. And in the end, its going to pay off. Childhood is so fleeting, and before you know it, the kids are all grown up and leaving the nest.

I wish you luck. If you ever need any help with anything, don't be afraid to give me a buzz! I may have a lot of responsibilities, but that doesn't stop me from lending a hand to my friends.

Of course not right now! But he's going to leave someday. That's what happens when children grow up. They leave the nest and start families of their own.

... you know, I don't think I've told anyone this, but the reason I ran away to join the Space Corps wasn't just to avenge my grandfather. It was also because ... I wanted to escape from my mother. It sounds hard to believe, but sometimes its possible to love someone too much.

Just because he's going to move out doesn't mean that he's leaving you. I mean, after I left Earth for Alwas, I actually started to miss my mother a lot. And when I became Avatar, I thought I'd never see her again. It made me so sad. But now that I can visit Earth whenever I want, I have a much better relationship with my mom. I visit her as much as I can, and she's always so happy to see me.
