I do not fully understand the preoccupation many people have with masquerades. In addition to the Midsummer's Eve ball, this year we are holding a masquerade on All Hollows' Eve. Most seem to be full of adoration of this event, even though it is not so long since the last. We have been recieving many excited letters from those accepting the invitation, and even Lady Alicia and Finian are eager.

For this event, even the hostess and host are to disguised for some part of the night.

Finian wishes to match his costume to mine. I do not know what to be. I thought perhaps a seal, but that would not be wise, and what would Finian be with that? A fisherman again?

It is very puzzling, this enthususiasm to be other than yourself.

It has recently come to my attention that a certain whore someone has dumped my $40 a pound coffee down the drain.  "For my own good", he claims.  He thinks he's doing a good deed.  And, while it would be incredibly easy for me to track him down since he lives in my home--having a computer in my head also works wonders, but that's not nearly as fulfilling as a good ol' fashioned hunt--I feel the need to strike fear into this monster's heart.  On top of that, I haven't seen him around since this massacre took place.

So if anyone's seen Steve around, I'd be deeply appreciative if you could pass a message along.  "I'm going to find you and wreak unholy vengeance."

On another--more serious--note, what's going on around here with the murders?  It's captured my attention and if at all possible, I'd like to know a little bit more.

What a curious community this is. Multiple universes? Fascinating.

Tell me: How often do you feel the wants of the flesh? Of hunger, sexual desire, love? Do you have the will to control yourself long enough, or do you sink deeper into these base cravings and get consumed?

I suppose these are all foolish questions, because there will come a point when everyone falls prey to their desires, their desperations. Adam and Eve were tempted by the Serpent, and God rejected them from the Garden. Humans are ultimately weak and childish, so why not speed up the process a little bit? Why not allow yourself to get free of the bonds which bind you here?
