February 14, day of St. Valentine who was martyred for being a Christian and who restored sight and hearing to the daughter of his jailer.
"For this was sent on Seynt Valentyne's day
Whan every foul cometh ther to choose his mat
Of course, there are actually three Saint's, all of them "Valentine"s mentioned in early martyrologies under the date of 14 February.

I prefer this version over the commercialized version.

A day where people go inexplicably mushy and start sending horrible poems, roses and overly sweet chocolates to their girlfriends.

Some kind of festival for couples, then? Sounds stupid.

It was originally to commemorate some saint from a dead religion actually; I have no idea why it's become a day for couples, but it is.
I just ignore it; nobody in the office except for Havoc and the colonel really celebrates it.

It's a day when I get lots of candy
an love-poems
.
Basically a day to tell people you love them or whatnot.
I wonder if I'll get anything this year...
