Team Two - Rescuing Yunalesca

[RL - ShinRa Building - Gaia]

Kadaj stands near the base of the building, making a final check of Team Two.

"Everyone..." He sighs and shakes his head. These kind of speeches don't come easily to him. "I just wanted to say... you've risked a lot by coming here, and you didn't have to, and I know I haven't exactly been the nicest person and I don't really deserve all this help, but... thank you."

He shrugs and draws his sword then, nodding at everyone and turning to face the ShinRa Building.

"Now... let's go kick some ShinRa ass."

He sprints across the tarmac, avoiding the main entrance and choosing instead to aim for the plain-looking door at the side of the building, which leads to the maintenance stairs. He frowns as he glances at the electrical lock; obviously, Rufus ShinRa has installed more security devices since the last time his building was infiltrated.

"Damn it!" he snarls, glancing back at the rest of the team. "Anyone any good with these things?"

*There is a crackling noise as a Twilight portal materializes at the base of the ShinRa building. Shortly after, Ian tumbles out and the portal disappears.*

...That's the last time I ask for a ride from a shadow.

*He picks himself up and throws a sheepish glance at Team Two.*

So. How late am I?

"Ian! You any good with these kind of locks?" Kadaj ushers him over and wastes no time in pointing him at the thing. "Glad you could make it, by the way."

"HALT."

The elite army of ShinRa, SOLIDERS appear from nowhere surrounding the two people.

"We have orders to shoot on sight."

...Well. That complicates things, now doesn't it...?

"Oh, shit." Kadaj sneers and grips his sword firmly, eyes narrowing at the SOLDIERs. "Ian - deal with that lock. I'll cover you."

He springs into action, charging at the nearest SOLDIER.

The SOLDIERs fired a round of LifeStream tipped bullets into the charging boy while their commander spoke with Rufus over the phone.

"Kill them on sight? Yes SIR!"

*Ian wastes no time. Leaning over, he begins to fiddle with the lock.

This thing is flimsy. I should easily be able to find a-

The lock beeped, signifying that it was slowly running through all security commands. Good. It wouldn't take long now.*

Kadaj tries as best he can to deflect as many bullets as possible, but some manage to break through and tear holes in his black leather, causing him to wince in pain. The Lifestream-tipped bullets burn like absolute hell.

"Sons-of-bitches!" Snarling, he explodes into the midst of the SOLDIERs, slicing one open swiftly and cutting a deep swathe of red across the chest of another; no sooner has he hit there then he leaps over their heads and attacks from behind, impaling one with a sickeningly gleeful laugh.

From his remote location, Rufus is hit with a pang of humanity for his soldiers and orders them to retreat backwards; frowning. He snarls as he punches in an order to have a mechanical robot to make an entrance.

The SOLDIERS panic slightly, as the first class make their way to the front to start battling Kadaj.

There you are.

Ian jumps on this last command, putting all of his energy and attention into hacking it.

He tries to block out the sounds of the SOLDIER's screams and Kadaj's laughter.*

A large blood transportation circle appears in the middle of the fight, and a voice can be heard shouting something that vaguely sounds like "incoming, bitches!"

There is a flash of magic, and Shro appears, hurtling from the sky, naginata in hand, for all intents and purposes performing a dragoon divebomb. He impales a SOLDIER with his descent, and swiftly jumps away, pulling the naginata free.

"Am I late?"

"Shiro!" Kadaj glances up briefly and grins, finishing off another SOLDIER with a casual swing of his blade. "You made it! Damn, I've been waiting to see how good you are in a fight - let's have some fun!"

All the SOLDIERs lay either inside the building on the 65th floor or dead. The mechanized helicopter hovers above them, the machine guns ripping through them.

Shiro, trying to get the last bits of gore flicked from his naginata, looks up at the beep.

"Oh, hey Ian. Didn't see you there. Y'know, what with the impaling and stuff...aw crap I got gizzards on my pants."

"It'll wash off." Kadaj wipes the blood from his blade on one of the dead SOLDIER's clothes and kicks the not-quite-dead body, which moans slightly. "I'm expecting a few others to show up, too - got quite a team here."

"Nice work, Ian." Kadaj nods his thanks at him, and steps through the door into the stairwell, glancing up at the sixty or so flights. "Huh. It's going to be a hard climb. Better get started."

He begins to make his way up the stairs.

*the Doctor runs to the doorway, noticing that Shiro and Ian have also arrived*

"It's okay, Doctor - everything's going alright so far. We're ready to go in, the others can join us on the 65th Floor."

*Nodding, he takes the sonic screwdriver, and follows Kadaj to the staircase*

*Inside Brigandier's cockpit, Bart is doing his last minute checkups. 'Boosters, off! Ether machine, ready! Weapons, check!' Tightning his grip on the Gear's control stick, he grins. "All right, everything's all set! Now let's rock and ROLL!"

Outside, Brigandier stands from it's previous kneeling position, ready to assist the teams.*

"Kadaj!" she yells, releasing Jump as to catch up with the rest of the team members.
