It is strange to see that we have gained so many gods and 'superheroes' in these last few months. Yet this community is a nexus for the powerful - mayhap it is not all the surprising after all.

But I must admit, I do prefer Supermen over Gods. After all, according to your human philosophers, the 'Superman' is the replacement of God, correct? They are an ideal that mankind can strive for, rather than something humanity is shackled by.

But that inherently suggests there will be conflict between these two opposing groups. I wonder if that will be the case?

Hell, I hope not. We got enough problems without God takin' pot shots at Superman in the middle of it.

I, personally, would find that quite amusing.

True. It would be far preferable were a Superman to take pot shots at God. The consequences would not be nearly as dire.

You're making the grave error of counting "supermen" amongst mortal ranks.

Mayhap. But the very nature of the name says something - does it not? Supermen. They are already better than Gods in one respect; they are not some mysterious 'other' who looks down upon humanity as a toy bin.

One must truly work to create gaps that large in their logic. Men may be part of the word, but it has no place in its definition. They're above men. Mortals don't want to cast us off, they wish to be us.

Gods are humans at their most concentrated. The most foolish, the most heroic, the most evil. Of course they wish to be you - you are everything that they are already, not something new and different. You are not hard to be.

Doesn't that make us aspects? That means supermen are hardly anything more than mildly-difficult-to-be-men.

Indeed. Aspects of humanity.

The ideal of a Superman is difficult, maybe impossible, to obtain, yes. But the superman strives to be more than any God I have yet met. The trade off is worth it.

If it is a thought that can strive for change, that is enough.

Oh? The impossible becomes the possible as the world changes and advances.

I'm reasonably certain that that meaning of "superman" is unrelated to the man in the cape.
