Something strange is happening in the news, they're keeping it under wraps, or trying to at least. I'm not sure, I thought I'd look it up, but Google kept bringing me here.

Really random deaths that seem connected, same cause of death, things like that.

Bizarre murders, you mean? That sounds familiar. Something similar happened in the town where I used to work... You should be careful, Michael.

What happened there?

It started as a series of murders where the victims were apparently eaten. The deaths were caused by a mutagenic virus created by a corporation named Umbrella that turned everyone it infected into zombies and monsters. Eventually the entire population was infected and the whole town was destroyed.

A mutagenic virus made by the government, sounds a little conspiratorial, and yet, the symptoms matched.

I know it's hard to believe, but I saw it happen. I was with one of the special response teams sent to investigate the murders before the outbreak. Everyone on my team was killed by those things.

I'm not really sure how to explain it, a lot of unexplained deaths that all seem related, a lot of... general weirdness, disappearances.

Something similar happened to me when I first 'joined'. I frankly couldn't get away.

It's not a computer virus. It's just the community.

Right, well, I can't honestly say I've ever heard of a community being sentient.

I'm not sure, maybe some sort of disease? The government has a habit of trying to keep those on the down low.

Just because you haven't heard of it, doesn't mean it isn't true. And I'm not saying it's sentient, anyway. I'm just saying that it's not a computer virus, it's just the community acting on you. For all I know, it's directed by someone.
