It saddens me to see how many people look down on the Geisha. I understand where the confusion lays, but so many people refuse to understand their role in life. Let alone the mysterious tea houses. Indeed the Geisha are still in practice. They aren't in abundance as they used to be and the rules aren't as strict. I'm afraid that no matter what I have to say on the topic people are going to think what they want. Unfortantely, that is human nature.
The Geisha culture is very dear to me. My mother was familiar with their arts. It was also tradition that I needed to learn their ways in order to gain the refined and graceful ways needed for the string jistu, a fighting technique that was passed on from generation to generation.
I am in touch with a few Geisha myself and have enjoyed their platonic company from time to time. They have also provided me with necessary information from time to time.
Speaking of the Geisha, reminds me how much I miss the dancing and playing the koto. However, I do not miss wearing the pink kimono.

Common fucking prostitutes? Are you serious? As far as I know Geisha's have been higher-class people than a good majority of people here could hope to be.

Yes. World War II was a cause between a lot of the confusion and from time to time a some Geisha have been known to fall to that lower status.

That's a shame. I saw one perform once as a kid. It's why I hate the damned idiots who get all the details wrong.

It is. Originally the practice was started by men, believe it or not!

Iwasaki, Mineko, with Rande Brown. "Geisha, A Life" (also known as Geisha of Gion). This was written by a Geisha whom still exists today.
Then there is "Memoirs of a Geisha" written by Golden, Arthur. Both are wonderful sources and a good read.

Perhaps. Just about anyone now a days can put on a painted face and call themselves a Geisha. That's where some fo the confusion lay.

It's terrible that something someone holds dear to them is looked down upon. Perhaps you should advertise it properly so everyone can get the bigger picture?

Many people are easily mistaking the Geisha for a common prostitute when they are a far cry from them. They have a higher standard the most people give them credit for.

There seemed to be a big misunderstanding in one of the Host Club's entries. It shouldn't have shocked me so much about the views the other people had of the Geisha. However, their reactions caught me off guard.

Agreed, they don't seeem to understand anything. I think that's where I was frusterated the most. The others were trying to take advantage of their naivity instead of helping them understand. Then again in the Limitless Fortress people would be taking advantage of situations like that left and right.

I get the feeling that they've never had to deal with a situation even remotely similar to that of the Limitless Fortress...and will likely never have too. They get to be part of the privileged world that we can only dream of.

I'd almost think it was fair that they get taken advantage of...but I can't really blame them for just being lucky.

Yes, I'm rather jealous in a way. At the same time their innosence reminds me of why I fought hard to protect Lower Town and those outside the Limitless Fortress.

You're right. No one should have to go through what we did...and I guess its important to protect the innocence that we find.
