Hiya, guys, ~~bet some people will glad to see a break from all the Valentine Day's-related posts~~.

I got a question for you all, one that may have been asked before in a way, I think. But here we go, say someone who was an on-off ally of sorts did something that really hurt a friend of yours, yet realised what they did was wrong and seems willing to make amends, make things right and all. Should he be trusted/forgiven or not?

I'm all for second chances. However, I wouldn't give this person too much freedom and advantage until you feel that person is trusting. I would also talk to your other friend that was hurt by that person and let them know what you plan to do.

He should TOTALLY be forgiven! Not trusted, that would be so stupid, but at least get a second chance!!

Be trusted? No, trust has to be earned, not just given, especially if he's broken that trust in the past.

However, a second chance is good as well.

No, it was another friend of mine, Jeri. The guy murdered her partner right in front of us all.

It would be foolish to trust him again. You stated that he was only occasionally an ally to begin with; he may turn on you again.

Good point, but that seems a little harsh, he did help us with an enemy that was giving us serious problems with defeating it.

Even so, he did help....

You may have worked toward a common goal in the past, but that is no reason to assume you will do so in the future.

Yeah, just have to wait and see what happens, but I kinda hope it's nothing bad on his behalf.
