[Voice]

[It's kind of quiet, maybe the sound of a bird in the distance and some light rustling of leaves as the breeze blows before Teresa speaks. Her voice sounds noncommittal, despite the seriousness of the subject.]

What are your beliefs of life after death?

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:04 am (UTC)(link)
I believe in reincarnation.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:07 am (UTC)(link)
Mostly religious. I happen to be a monk, but if I weren't, I would likely believe in it regardless.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:11 am (UTC)(link)
It's... comforting, I think, to know that pain in this world is temporary. One can begin from the lowest point and, over many lifetimes, reach enlightenment and end one's pain. There are always second chances.

Lately, of course, my belief has been somewhat shaped by asking people who would know. It isn't quite the Buddhist depiction of it, but what happens on my world is reincarnation nonetheless.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:14 am (UTC)(link)
That's a tad more temporary than I prefer my existence to be.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:16 am (UTC)(link)
You do have a point. I wouldn't want to remember it, either.

[identity profile] stripping.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
I should hope so.

[identity profile] stone-gun-nest.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:20 am (UTC)(link)
I don't know... I'd like to believe there is one. Someone I didn't get to know as well as I should have deserves it.

[identity profile] stone-gun-nest.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:26 am (UTC)(link)
Huh. As if the community wasn't weird enough, now it really does connect to dead people.

I've got a friend who's in a situation sort of like that. He uploaded his mind into a computer. He's still paranoid, though.

[identity profile] stone-gun-nest.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:31 am (UTC)(link)
I guess it's magic, then? I know a few people use books or something like that...

Conciousness is an electromagnetic construct. Life after death is resuscitation, the Afterlife is fictional. Or symbolic.

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
Transference of conciousness possible but unlikely. Mushrooms must be the cause.

... Did they have blue hands?

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:40 am (UTC)(link)
Hallucinations often caused by mushrooms. You are in a fictional place, hallucinating. Cogito ergo mushrooms.

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:43 am (UTC)(link)
Recognised from personal experience?

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:46 am (UTC)(link)
Eating is overrated. Evolution should soon remove the need.

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
Can you be sure you no longer eat? Is this the "or so"?

How the heck did we get onto this subject?

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:54 am (UTC)(link)
If you are dead... There must be research!

Where are you?

[identity profile] broken-gift.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:58 am (UTC)(link)
Droll. A description is worth a thousand names.

[identity profile] originaldragoon.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:37 am (UTC)(link)
I would like to believe that there is some kind of after life. Though I do know in my world, some souls can linger in the plain of the living.

[identity profile] originaldragoon.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:45 am (UTC)(link)
You mean in some sort of limbo? That might be a bit better then staying in the living world. The ghosts I have seen, did not even know they were dead and could not cross over.

[identity profile] originaldragoon.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:49 am (UTC)(link)
Every belief is different I suppose. I really do not have a faith any more. Most of what I believe in is based on what I have seen with my own eyes now.

[identity profile] originaldragoon.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 03:53 am (UTC)(link)
Maybe, but I imagine there are worse places then being in a limbo.

Here, have an ex-shinigami.

[identity profile] like-ya-mean-it.livejournal.com 2009-12-31 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
S'pose there jus' might be somethin' t' it~
oceanicbutterfly: (hmm)

I'm not certain. My experiences make it hard for me to believe there isn't something, but I don't know what it would be.

You can always be rebuilt!

[identity profile] aburningspirit.livejournal.com 2010-01-01 07:40 am (UTC)(link)
There's one.
