[It is a beautiful day outside, the sun is shining brightly in the sky, not a cloud in sight. The water looks cool and blue, and on it is a small boat with two rather enthusiastic blond children, leaning overboard and splashing. There's a strong looking man rowing and a woman who's hair is braided in several places and has a Flamel tattooed to her chest.

The boat docks on the riverbank and the two kids jump out, looking rather excited. The woman climbs out after them and watches them, a small smile at her lips.]

The wild kingdom... [Al murmurs, both Elrics look pretty amazed.]

Here, hold this. [Izumi Curtis drops a knife into Edward's hands.] This is a no man's island. [As she talks, Ed pulls the knife out of the little sheath, looking at it rather dubiously.] There is no electricity, no wells and no houses. There are wild beasts everywhere. You have to stay alive on this island, for one month. And you aren't allowed to use alchemy in this time period.

[Neither Ed nor Al look very impressed by this.] WHAT THE HELL?!

[Izumi waves as she walks back towards the boat.] I'll see you guys in a month. [Ed protests and she looks back.] One is all, all is one. If you can't find the answer in a month, I'll send you boys home. Bye~

[The boat leaves both children standing there, shocked. Edward finally snaps out of it and looks at his little device which has been recording, confused. He doesn't really remember ever getting it or know how it's working so he starts pushing buttons. After several annoyed beeps, the video stops at least. Another beep signifies that the audio is turned on.]

What do we do Al? I guess...I guess we need to find somewhere to sleep. Come on. [Ed's footsteps rustle the brush beneath him.]

yeah ..eh..no. That's dangerous and you are just little kids.

Catching an animal is dangerous? How? I mean...I have a really big knife. And if I'm bigger than the animal, I should be able to win right?

There the slightly possibility that the animal can be bigger than you. What if he bites you? Do you know how many diseases you can catch?

Diseases? Why would animals have diseases? I touched a cow before, I didn't get sick.

Not all the animal but the wild ones often have them. They're mouth are filled with all sorts of bacteria.

Ew gross! I don't want to eat any animals then!

You can eat them if you clan them first. But hear me, you can't stay in an island by yourselves.

I can't swim away. So I guess we'll stay here. I think I saw some berries. Can people eat leaves?

Some berries and plants are poisonous, how do they look like?

Uh I dunno they're red. I'm not a fruit alchemist.

Can't you fish something? That will be less dangerous.

Alchemist?

I guess we could try that.

Yeah I'm gonna be a great alchemist! That's what I'm training for. it's a really important scientist.

You should try to find a ship and get out of the island first.

I only read a bit o it in books, people study that for real in your world?

There isn't a ship. There's nothing here but trees and sand and stuff.

Course they do! I'm already pretty good, but the teacher is a lot better so I begged her to let me study from her. I need to be better.

Can you build one with a tree?

And her way to teach is...doing this?

I could with alchemy, but we aren't allowed to use alchemy during training. Weird right?

Yep, apparently.

You are training to learn alchemy without using alchemy....I see.

Yeah. I dunno, I don't think so cause if she could talk to me on this thing, she'd probably yell at us for talking to people instead of training.
