I am Ansem, called, by turns, the Seeker of Darkness, Devourer of Worlds, Son of the Shadow, etc. or - if you are Riku - 'go away'.

I care little for titles but for the first one; the others are poetic twaddle at best. The last one amuses me as I retain a soft spot for its origin.

If anyone has, by chance, come upon any of my research notes, I would be very grateful to the one who returned them. I will offer an appropriate reward. (And before anyone gets clever - I do not lie. I am many things, true, but no liar.)

The title was only such because my previous work made it so. You were ever and always merely a thief, of research, of resources, of reputation...building your empire on fantasy and stolen hearts. I do not waste hatred on you and your shell; I merely despise you for what you have made of yourselves.

My sins are and will always be my own. Do not cast stones at me for your compounding of them. I have struggled with the darkness and kept my sanity and my purpose, if not my innocence. That is my penance, that and my mission to stop my wayward charges...I long, for the sake of the worlds, to see yourself and your Nobody face your own retribution.
