(no subject)

You'd think after this many years, I'd learn that the only thing you can ever count on humans to do is surprise you.

I'd prefer it if they were all good surprises.

[[OOC: canon move. Beast Below has happened, and he's brooding (before he sets off on another whirlwind adventure, Churchy hasn't called yet). Oh, and feel free to wonder where he went, if you even remember him.]]

Oh really? And what to you mean by that, exactly, Doctor?
51stcentury: (explaining smile)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-11-27 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey. That's not fair and you know it. You've done some pretty stupid things in your time too. Just because you haven't been around to watch yourself doing them...
51stcentury: (eyebrow raise)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-11-27 09:57 pm (UTC)(link)
Now you're just making up excuses.

What happened? I haven't seen you around for a while. Well. Not this version of you, at any rate.

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-11-27 10:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, it's been a whole hell of a lot longer for the rest of us.

What do you mean, left the terminal too close to the time vortex?
51stcentury: (contemplative convo)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-11-27 10:49 pm (UTC)(link)
You could say that.

Tell me, Doctor. Do you still have all of the same memories as your previous incarnation? I assume you do, right?
51stcentury: (explaining smile)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-11-27 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)
So do you know about the 456, or is that something that only the community caught you onto?
51stcentury: (explaining smile)

[personal profile] 51stcentury 2010-11-27 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, Doctor. The 456. That's what we call them. I don't know if you would've known them by name, without having the community, but. I called you. During that time. I called you, and I asked you to come, to help. And you didn't. That has to strike some sort of note in you, if you remember any of it at all.

Trust me, we'd like it if we were full of good surprises, too.

My tea almost ended up all over my screen. XD

[identity profile] infinite-arcana.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 09:48 pm (UTC)(link)
That wouldn't be a good surprise for a human!

[identity profile] infinite-arcana.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
It'd be more freaky than good.

[identity profile] carriesparasol.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 09:34 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose humans are often surprising, though I imagine any race could be equally surprising.

[identity profile] carriesparasol.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 10:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Those do look dreadful. But, you mean to say that there really is life among the stars?

[identity profile] carriesparasol.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
I was under the impression that anyone could read these responses. Is that not true?

[identity profile] carriesparasol.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 11:02 pm (UTC)(link)
Yes, I suppose that is true. You need not worry though. If I were to tell anyone of beings from the stars they would certainly not take me seriously.

[identity profile] carriesparasol.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 11:16 pm (UTC)(link)
"We're"? So then you are an alien as well?

[identity profile] carriesparasol.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 10:33 pm (UTC)(link)
I suppose that is a fair point.

May I ask what the world you come from is like?

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 11:00 pm (UTC)(link)
You're still here.

[identity profile] peoplesprincess.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
It leaves people all the time. You're lucky it let you back. ... Or unlucky, depending on how you feel about it.

[identity profile] aikido-2-dan.livejournal.com 2010-11-27 11:31 pm (UTC)(link)
I think most humans prefer all our surprises to be goods.

[identity profile] aikido-2-dan.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
...sounds like you have some pretty crazy adventures.

But you're right. Part of being human is making mistakes. Hopefully people learn from them.

[identity profile] phoenix-temple.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 12:18 am (UTC)(link)
Every race has their good and bad, it's rather unfortunate. But even the bad surprises can produce good results!

Nice to see you again, Doctor.

[identity profile] phoenix-temple.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 08:36 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah... I would never say "as usual," and people are very fond of telling me I am wrong, actually...

strikes not there :|b

A spaceship?! ... ah. Starship UK, then.

[identity profile] hornyattorney.livejournal.com 2010-11-28 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You might stop being surprised if they were all good.

[identity profile] hornyattorney.livejournal.com 2010-11-29 08:14 pm (UTC)(link)
But do you like monotony?
