Alright, the lads won't get off my back unless I do this, so...
Merry Christmas. [My God, these are likely to be the most begrudging-sounding Christmas wishes you've ever heard.
Also, there's a pause during which you may hear some younger voices - until Scrooge chimes in again.] ... What? NO, of course nobody's getting anything-- Five cents?! If I gave even just one cent to everyone in that doggone community, I'd be on my way to the poorhouse!
