It's probably a waste of time, helping people like that. They'll still be weak even with the stuff you give them.

That's not true, you can be strong even if you have an automail. There are plenty of powerful fighters on my world that can fight without a problem with their automails. I make sure they work as closely, or even better, then a human limb.

That's stupid. How could a piece of metal work better than an arm or a leg?

For starters, this "piece of metal" can work just like any kind of limb can. Automails are very strong and powerful. The surgery for this is very painful, so you have to be strong to begin with to undertake it, because the automail is linked to the body's nervous system. Treatment is also very painful and hard, and learning how to use and function the automail is very difficult at first. You can also use your automail in ways you could not use your limbs for.

Really? Ways like what?

Well, since you are a fighter, you might be more interested on the ways you can us it in combat.

The automail itself it a lot harder and powerful then your limb, and harder to break then a normal human limb. Edward is able to use his automail and still be a very great fighter.

So you can hit harder, and take more damage?

Yes, but it also has it's disadvantages, but that's with anything you run into.

What kind of disadvantages?

Well, for starters, the automail may be stronger, but it has it's weak points as well. You have to keep the maintenance up on your automail daily, making sure everything is oiled properly and everything is on point. If you forget even one bolt, the whole automail could not function and break down~~learned that one first hand.~~

Also, automails are usually heavier then a normal limb, which can slow down it's user, although the automails I make are lighter then what is out there.

Yet, at the same time, a human limb can break just as easily as the automail. It takes longer to heal as well. There are pros and cons to look into.

But I would never suggest getting rid of one of your limbs for an automail.

Yeah, you're right. It sounds like too much trouble.

It would've been fun, though.

Fun isn't the right word to use. It's a very painful thing to go though.
