[The video opens, a beautiful Spring day. As it pans out in amateur camcorder fashion, Adam and Peter come into view, a justice of the peace standing between them. They stand on the steps to an elaborate gazebo, looking out over a sea of white folding chairs filled with tearful faces. Adam and Peter are each holding a brass goblet, looking expectantly to the man between them. He begins to speak, evenly and without much intonation:]

You were born to be together, and together you shall be forevermore.
You shall be together when the wings of death scatter your days.
Ay, you shall be together even in your silent memory.
But let there be spaces in your togetherness,
And let the winds of the heaven dance between you.
Love one another, but make not a bondage of love.
Let it rather be a moving sea between the shores of your souls.
Fill each other's cup, but drink not from one cup.
Give one another of your bread, but eat not of the same loaf.
Sing and dance together and be joyous, but let each of you be alone,
Even as the strings of a lute are alone, though they quiver with the same music.
Give your hearts, but not into each other's keeping,
For only the hand of life can contain your hearts.
And stand together, yet not too near together,
For the pillars of the temple stand apart,
And the oak tree and the cypress grow not in shadow.

[They smile, curving their arms around each other and drinking from the other's cup. The stands erupt in applause, Peter's family and friends standing to cheer.]
