I am something called a preternatural. I have no soul.

I have...certain affects upon supernatural beings.

And, I suppose upon death there will be no hope that my soul shall rise to Heaven, nor fear that it shall fall to Hell. I will simply cease to be.

Does that bother you?

Not particularly. It simply means I must enjoy the time I have while I am still alive.

That is a good attitude to have.

I rather enjoy it on most days.

Life should be lived without fear.

Quite well, though I shall be even better then this wedding is good and finished. There is far too much stress around planning such an event.

Some people do make it such a fuss.

I am just grateful that I have an assistant who is more than happy to deal with all the fuss.

I don't understand why it needs to be such a spectacle. Isn't being happy with each other more important than one fancy day?

Not according to society. I believe both Conall and I would prefer something far more simple, but given who we are it is simply impossible.

Conall is the Earl of Woolsey. I am not anything quite as prestigious. Just a lady of society.

And you don't want to go against your society's rules.

It would be far too much trouble.
