[The scene is fairly dark, but a large box of sorts can be seen. Sitting just before it is a man some might recognize as Rory. However, instead of his usual flannel and t-shirt casual look, he is dressed in complete Roman Centurion armor.

He looks down and reaches for the source of the recording.]

A book? Don't remember this being here before. [He looks up and around.] I don't think the Doctor left it. It doesn't look dangerous. Just a book, after all. No words or anything. [He shrugs, and tosses the book back to the ground.]

[ooc: mix of timewarp/au viruses so we can get us some Roman Rory in the house. Given the time point I pulled him from when I apped, this Rory will have no memories of the community or the people he's met through it.]

I feel as if I'm missing something. I certainly don't remember you dying, and I saw you quite recently. You needn't worry for your memories, though. It's... usual, as far as I know, for those coming back from death to experience some amnesia. They should all return in time.

I'm a time traveller, Rory, use your common sense. I'm not supposed to, but every so often I end up crossing my own time stream by accident, luckily usually not within the same regeneration, or that really would be a problem. Happens more often than usual thanks to this community, actually. My past - well, the me you know's past, and your... future, if I'm not much mistaken, met up. Wibbly wobbly timey wimey, but it's pretty standard to be honest.

Anyway, that's not important, what's important is why you're dressed as a Roman and why you're not expecting to see future-me for another few centuries, what's that all about?
