I apologize to those who sat through my accidental video the other evening. I was not aware that it was going, nor was I aware that there was a network connecting all of us.

I suppose a year ago I would have been surprised by this phenomenon, but there is little that surprises me these days.

[She pauses and casts her eyes to the side for a moment, frowning softly. There was little, yes, but there were still surprises, weren't they? She was still trying to determine if this latest one was pleasant or cruel.]

Anyway. I am Nasuti Yagyu, grand-daughter to Professor Yagyu of Sengoku University. He was a renowned scholar of romantic Japanese literature and culture. I have moved to Tokyo recently from France in order to intern under him and eventually get my degree here.

Well, genetically speaking, I am both. I was born in France, therefore I am technically a French citizen. I live in Japan under a student visa, though all of my relatives are Japanese citizens.

My best friend has relatives in Japan.

[Nasuti's face lights up.]

[Nasuti leans forward to her computer to get a better look, smiling warmly.]

[He flicks an ear.

[Nasuti can't help but chuckle a bit at the little critter, it's so cute!]

And just what are you, exactly..? Some sort of mouse..?

[He proceed to chatter in his strange language in his attempts to explain that he doesn't know what he is.]

[Nasuti smiles, giggling a bit. Well, that was a pleasant diversion.]

That's pretty cool!

[...why is there a clown in a gothic throne room on the screen.]

[Nasuti was wondering the same thing...ah, well! Smiles smiles!]

So, you're on Earth, right?

[This isn't suspicious at all!]

[Nasuti furrowed her brow. It didn't look like this guy was in the Nether Realm. But still...]

This is the Tower of Kefka! Or Kefka's Tower. Whatever you want to call it! It's the home of the god of magic, two dragons, two living weapons, and the remains of the Gestahlian Empire!

[Nasuti can be seen scribbling down a bunch of something, muttering something about "different dimension" or something along those lines.]

[If it's 1994 or after, his game will be out. That'll make things easier.]

It's 1989. [She says this like it's no big deal.]

It's too early, then. [He mutters to himself, annoyed:] It's not around until 1994...

Anyway! If the translation device isn't botched....

[And he writes it down several times on a piece of paper and shows her.]

I think the translation the community gives will turn that into my name in all the languages you speak!

Fascinating. So we're not all speaking a common language, but there are translators installed somehow that automatically do it for you?

How does it work in the case of world-hopping?

Yes! It usually works, and I don't know what the mechanism is. I would guess some sort of magic.
