Sailor Moon R Episode 55 by momope
[ooc: and because it is Daily Motion, you can expect commercial interruption and ads ;A; though I'm sure lovely anime has a better deal I can't make this laptop (which is not my usual laptop) run videos there \o/ In any case for this video the most relevant parts are: 12:24-13:37, 14:13-15:10 and 16:07-21:47]
[A little later on i.e. when Makoto discovers the video, the community is treated to another one...not quite as dynamic, but it's Makoto all the same.]
Really, this place is pretty good at catching awkward moments on video...that's like Candid Michrophone...no wait, that was almost 50 years ago...it's Camera right?
Ah! But it is that time of the year, isn't it, so maybe that's why...[insert nervous Mako laugh here, she's still pretty wary when it comes to the videos the community takes of her, especially after the last one]...right!
So love! I'm pretty interested naturally! I think Ginga-sempai's take on it was a little sad and...confusing...I wonder if that's okay? Coming from a different country, maybe love is expressed differently?
[ video ]
Candid Microphone. Wouldn't that be wearing a wire? The community is a snitch.
And I don't think love is something you can take unless you give it first.
[ pause ] There's an actual expression that goes 'The way to a man's heart is through his stomach.' I heard it somewhere once.
[ video ]
Haha! The community is a snitch, you really could look at it that way sometimes I think.
Give and take...that's a lot more comforting than just taking without giving the other person a choice.
[And she thinks about that quote too though she wouldn't be able to say where it comes from]
So making food is one way to express your feelings...that's true!
[ video ]
If you're just taking then what you're getting isn't love at all. You can't force someone to love.
Right. One among many ways.
[ video ]
Ah...right, you'll never know if a person's feelings are real if you're trying to make them love you.
Then I guess I'll just keep learning!
[ video ]
Right. You just have to give and see if they give something back. ...I think. I'm not an expert on love or anything but that's how I always viewed it.
Who was that other guy? Is he on your team?

Iya, or maybe that's just his way of rejecting you...

I...well, ironically I don't believe I have much to say on the idea of love. Father was far more well-versed in it than I.
...incidentally, Makoto, is it my imagination or did he sound vaguely familiar somehow?
no subject
I can't say that I'm that great with it either...I guess that would be Minako's territory, but I'm always interested in other perspectives...though Ginga-sempai...I feel a little sad for him.
Oh...hm...well...Cynic-san above said something about you and Ginga-san sounding a little bit alike...then he said you were both alike...I don't know...
...eh? Is that what he meant! [Sorry, she's talking to herself.]

You can't just force someone to fall in love for you. If you did, that...wouldn't really be love at all, would it? [He was smiling as he spoke, though it didn't seem all that happy.]
I'm sorry, I probably sound like a hypocrite. I of all people really have no place talking about others falling in love.
no subject
Mmm...eyes are the window to the soul. If love exists I think that's how you know it. Ginga-sempai's soul told me nothing...though...I can't imagine where he learned about love or what his situation was...[Makoto doesn't really seem all that happy either, but clearly she can't picture a love that comes from force]
Huh? I don't think so...En said that a lowly human like me didn't have the right to talk about love. Everyone has their own thoughts on things though...so everyone has that right, right?

[Then suddenly, awkward hesitation!]
Makoto, there is something that I have been wondering. If someone says that they love you, how do you know that it is really...what I mean to ask is, er...how can you tell if they really mean it, or if they are just saying it because they think they are in love with you when they really aren't?
